Thomas Asante, Dembele etc. Im guessing the likes of Toth and Gueye werent his idea. Point being, he clearly wasnt happy with the recruitment or the way the club was run hence why he couldnt leave soon enough. And I am sure you will go on to say I didnt personally rate those individual players that much, especially Dembele. Irrelevant to the point I am making about the fact that a director of football structure can lead to disagreements which are much more likely at a dysfunctional club like ours. Recruitment has not worked for a number of years. The squad is full of loans and short term contracts and it will be another summer of trying to cobble together a new team on pennies. Having two different people in a director of football role has not improved anything here, its caused more problems if anything. Doesn't answer the question tbh. Eustace is the head coach and the recruitment team to find the players we needed. Overall I think they did more than a decent job of it. January, we waited for a striker as Gestede said in his podcast then it didn't happen, I take that was BTA in my opinion. Lets hope this summer we can get 2 or 3 signings in before pre season starts. 🤞 Quote

You still can't answer the question which players were push on Eustace. You make the claim but can you back it up now, guess not. Quote

Which is what you have done with this point(same as I do or others) which is from Elliott Jackson I take it whilst Gestede was asked by EJ about it, said he knows nothing about it I think we will leave our communication there. dallydally Posted Tuesday at 13:36 Posted Tuesday at 13:36 Rooney?? What a plonker. And we all think Ismael is deficient!!! Quote
Tomphil2 Posted Tuesday at 13:54 Posted Tuesday at 13:54 Nothing more than fear mongering they genuinely think everyone is too dumb to see past it. Absolute rank amateurs in charge of the PR down there you can absolutely tell straight away that COO is a corner shop operator and he's right next door to a small time snake oil salesman in Waggot. They will do anything to cover their own hides now it's right back to Shagnew but they'll have some job on explaining next seasons ST sales if the mood around the hardcore fanbase is anything to go by. 3 Quote
JHRover Posted Tuesday at 14:29 Posted Tuesday at 14:29 Isn't it remarkable how just after the big time pressure of the last couple of weeks and fiasco of an interview delivered by the three stooges that all of a sudden we are getting transfer tittle tattle and then Talkshite running with this. Like someone somewhere has pressed a switch and all of a sudden all the talk is back onto players, signings, contracts and managers and not the owners or stooges. Also a coincidence that these stories are being spread by Talkshite and Nixon given their previous alliances and activities where Venky Rovers are concerned. Quite a few of the Arsenal / Glasgow / agency mob have been through the doors at Talksport towers over the years.... 2 Quote
Mattyblue Posted Tuesday at 14:34 Posted Tuesday at 14:34 A late draw and an away win have taken the winds out the sails too. It’s the double edged sword, of course, as football is fundamentally about your club winning games, though doing that removes most hostility - we win on Friday and the campaigns will get very little traction for what’s left of this season, then in the close season it is also harder to get noticed. (Of course the biggest protest of all is still to manifest itself, I.e the collapse in ST sales and ergo crowds next season). 5 Quote
bboy Posted Tuesday at 15:22 Posted Tuesday at 15:22 The link to Rooney just reminds of the Mick McCarthy "It can" Meme. It almost seems like a threat to the fans. 3 Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted Tuesday at 15:37 Posted Tuesday at 15:37 Rooney's actually not bad as a pundit compared to some of the other dross on the tele and radio (Danny Murphy). He should stick to punditry. Quote

And, on the back of those two results, Ismael’s been out doing his full victory lap in the LT today - takes time to make an impact, now we’ve got stability you can see what we can do etc etc - plus of course it was the injuries and lack of options from the bench that to were blame and not him and his tactics (although quite how a poor bench contributes to continually conceding early goals I’m not entirely sure) I still think we need to get rid of this charlatan, but probably not before we’re rid of the three stooges (or at least Gestede) because, as the link to Rooney shows, there’s little to no chance that he would be replaced by anyone more competent. simongarnerisgod Posted Tuesday at 17:38 Posted Tuesday at 17:38 the rooney link makes perfect sense in venkyworld, high profile figure in the game replaces manager who has won 1 in 8 and can be got rid of for nothing within a certain timeframe (allegedly),balaji and his brother will be over this,it`s perfect for them publicity wise,in reality it`s just another shambolic episode in blackburn rovers recent history i absolutely believe this will happen,it`s the kind of illogical and frankly damaging stuff that venkys do well, despite the club denying it,that lot at ewood could`nt tell the truth if you threatened to set a xl bully on them,it`s a typical venky move Quote

The 'victory lap' as you've called it has really pissed me off. No acknowledgement he has taken a team from 5th into a black hole. He never once mentioned playoffs, promotion or anything remotely ambition since the second he walked in the door. Just a snarling smug dud. 1 Quote

chaddyrovers Posted Tuesday at 20:00 Posted Tuesday at 20:00 Heard this Rooney rumour about 2 weeks ago that he would take over at the end of the season from Ismael. Dismissed it at the time Quote
Upside Down Posted Tuesday at 20:05 Posted Tuesday at 20:05 One win and the club PR is in overdrive. I for one am going to call their bluff here. We're going down next year with this Ismael cunt anyway so what's there to lose? They really are so fucking dense. They couldn't handle 1% of the media circus that would come here with Rooney. For me it's Rooney in. 2 Quote

JHRover Posted Tuesday at 20:41 Posted Tuesday at 20:41 We know one thing - the longer the heat is on Venkys / the stooges the higher the chances of something daft like this happening. It is project distract/divert. They will do whatever they can to turn the gaze away from India and the directors box and if that means sacrificing a manager or making a rogue appointment or two so be it, that grazy train needs keeping on track at all costs and another re-shuffle in the dugout is well worth the price if it gets them another 6-12 months of focus elsewhere. Will this happen? Probably not unless there's serious trouble behind the scenes with Ismael or some sort of renewal clause in the summer that the club are easily able to let slip and him leave. I don't think they want a high turnover in managers really because it draws attention and costs to hire and fire unless you get the very desperate. But I'm sure they will use every weapon in the armoury if the pressure on them and their season ticket targets is high enough. 2 Quote
