Yes we seem to agree on the contract situation and the urgent need to sort those out. I suspect we are already too late and the players in question will have decided to look elsewhere and will be getting advice from their representatives to dismiss any attempts by Rovers to renew them (if Rovers even make any attempts, which I doubt).

We agreed 2 weeks on this and we should be in talks with Hyam, Brittain, Tronstad and Travis. I expect Dolan to move on now, Hedges will probably stay

The difference between me and you is that when these players waltz off into the sunset and join rival clubs at knockdown fees/free transfers I won't be shrugging my shoulders and concocting all sorts of excuses why Rovers couldn't or wouldn't keep them, I won't be blaming FFP, I won't be blaming crowds, fanbases, legal troubles, the players or their agents for being greedy, unreasonable, telling myself that someone has always fancied living in Stoke or Derby or Middlesbrough or wherever they go. I won't be doing that because it is almost certainly bullshit, fanned out to the media and supporters by people at Rovers anxious to protect their cushy numbers and keep the supporters on side in the meantime.

FFP can't blame here for not renewing our contracts. Can wages wanted by the player and what Rovers offer be a problem and yes I wouldn't be over paying for squad players.

Rothwell was specific case yet you still can't accept it FFS when all the evidence was there.

I will be holding Rovers 100% responsible and behaving accordingly. You however have a habit of re-writing history or swallowing any old story that appears on twitter/Nixon/Venkygraph because it is easier to stomach than the painful truth of what is going on at Rovers.

how are you going to hold Rovers accountable then and behave accordingly? Can I ask are you a season ticket holder currently?

I am glad you are happy with the Ismael appointment. I couldn't care less to be honest. We have a 2 month season and future. What happens beyond that is way bigger and more significant than who the 'head coach' is.

I'll have a bet with you now that he isn't our manager by March 2026. No criticism of him but he won't be given the opportunity or resources to do his job so he'll either quit (JDT) or engineer a move elsewhere (Eustace).

It was someone I mentioned straight away for the job, so of course I am happy with this appointment

I don't believe Dolan has been offered a new deal, or if he has it is insultingly bad for someone at his age/experience/ability. There's one example. Of course they claim he has, and technically they could be right with that.

But I won't be blaming Dolan - I will be blaming Rovers - when he departs for not sorting this out with an appropriate offer.

I'm glad you've finally accepted that FFP is not the issue here. I've been saying it for 5+ years.

Enough on Rothwell, we will go around in circles on that.

I will hold Rovers accountable by using every platform I can to hold them responsible and take them to task for it. I will ask questions, scrutinise, criticise and blame. Not much more I can do that that other than totally disengage which is the final step I haven't quite reached yet.

I think accepting their version of events and believing their fiction is simply falling into the Venky/Waggott trap and doing the job for them. Slippery Steve would love nothing more than everyone to believe that Rovers have done their very best and are blameless for what happens.

Of course you can ask - yes I am a current season ticket holder - and will have a decision to make when they get around to renewals as I have the last few years. Each year it gets harder and harder to justify....there is a limit to my patience and it is rapidly approaching.

Wouldn't it be refreshing if every now and then, someone senior at the club acknowledged that they had got something wrong.

Is is never their fault and the buck is always passed, like the Greg Broughton, the buck stops with me, interview, where he had to take the flack, even though he knew what had really gone on.

FFP is a thing in the football, why do you think Boro sold Latte last window. Rovers have make enough sales and received enough income to past this away for at least 2-4 seasons.

asked questions, scrutinise, criticise and blame to who? meetings with Rovers management? or just on social media.

We don't hear from Waggott or Pasha or even Gestede anymore. I'm surprised Gestede hasn't done a Transfer window interview or even an interview on why Ismael was picked as the head coach.

Other than meetings from Fans Forum and WATR that it from them

I think during the back end of January transfer window 2024, I think you witness Waggott and Pasha lose faith in JDT and GB, and witness them line up Eustace to take over.

Broughton was senior ar the Club

. Whether or not he had anything to do with any of the transfer window debacles is debatable but  he didnt walk after either so even if beither were his fault he was complicit in covering them up.

I lost faith in Waggott and Pasha years ago - when can someone take over from them?

We know we were teetering on the playoff edge when Eustace walked but this guy has come in and consolidated our place in championship for next season.

He looks like he's made us worse. New manager bounce dunce. We might easily finish in the bottom half at this rate. Can't believe I bought a ticket for today and Stoke, what an idiot

Said at the time was a poor uninspiring appointment

how wrong I was

it’s a fucking dismal, weak, desperate appointment and questions need to be raised how a 3 year deal was offered

all of us said at the time - short time high pay til end of season and get quality

once again rovers - waggot has us fucking ourselves and do it royally

Don't worry mate, if the accounts are anything Waggotts doubled his salary.

Inspiring.

Fuck the lot of them.

Ismail out for me.

Absolute yes man.

Brittain immediately devoid of any confidence today. Tells you all you need to know.

Far too early to make a judgement on Ismael yet.

However, it can be said the players have not had any reaction to him at all. They have instead almost immediately regressed (to what is the norm, tbf, but still).

Dark signs.

They look like they don't know where they're meant to be playing. Big, big gaps in the attack as players just run wherever they want.

This lad will take us down.

This is what happens when you bring in a new manager with new ideas in February. It's going to be disjointed. We had plenty of performances under JDT and Eustace where we looked equally shit. The shameful match against Rotherham during JDT's reign immediately springs to mind.

There's no evidence from Ismael's past jobs to suggest he'll wreck us Coyle-style and take us down. Maybe he will, but it seems more likely we'll just become very average. The main difference will be that, unlike in his previous jobs, Ismael won't be able to escape early because Venky's won't let him leave and they won't sack him either.

Devil's advocate - you'd expect at least a modicum of new manager bounce, and to lose to a side hopelessly adrift in relegation zone in only his second match is very ominous.

We so obviously needed a highly skilled, senior operator to maximise our chances of the play offs.

Instead, we bring in a guy who lasts less time than a mini Mars bar and give him a bumper contract.

Think we got our "new manager bounce" with Lowe, unfortunately. Albeit for just two games before reverting to the usual.

Not entirely sure, but I get the feeling we have an underwhelming history under Venky's when it comes to the new manager bounce phenomenon.

That was "no manager" bounce 😉

I really do think this could go pear shaped (sorry!) very quickly.

Another defeat on Wednesday and the die will be cast.
