I got stick for this the other day but I don't think he ever fully had it. The manner of Eustace leaving and lack of support from above ruined morale.

Much like the end of JDT's first season when the club wanted to sell any assets as soon as the season ended, and didn't make any secret of it to management team or players. And some of the players didn't make a secret of how disgusted they were when they were chasing a play off place. Well done SwaggFail.

I wonder (more hope i guess), if there is a break clause for this summer. Giving him a 3 year deal was ludicrous and considering the short term nature of how they operate, it goes well against their current trend.

Not a cat in hells chance they sack him and pay him up for 3 years. It's all about cost savings, so there must be something that's weighted heavily in the clubs favour.

Who next though? A downgrade on Ismael presumably if such a thing exists.

Staggeringly shortsighted and poor appointment. Just ghastly. But are we surprised? Stinks of Gestede.

The team is still Eustace’s and half of them are at Derby already.

Dont blame the guy - 3.5 years on the gravy train.

Will become ugly when we’re 20th and he’s still not fired. Won’t be many in the stadium or left by then anyway.

Couldn't have made a more dull, uninspiring, emotionless appointment if they tried. Not the right fit and not good enough. He has finished off any play off hopes.

The clowns tried to dispel Eustace's claims of there being no long term plan, by giving this guy a three and a half year deal. Nice try.

It's going to backfire on them this time. It already is doing, as more are turning their sights towards the hapless duo, the worse that results get.

Either Ismael walks at some point, which will lead to more questions and scrutiny from the outside, as that would be three consecutive managers to have had enough. Or, results continue as they are and fans start to unite against the enemy when we are towards the bottom three next season.

Well done on appointing, Ismael. This one might just be the catalyst for us fans.

3 wins in 5 before he rocked up.

But it's actually since Jan 1st when Eustace wasn’t even slightly backed when it started.

Rumours of JE leaving were circulating in Dec.. he knew the club wouldn't back him and offer long term deals to our players.

The direction is to maintain some sort of league position, promote and sell youth.

All well and good, but the sticking point is, that the youth we now have is not very good.

It is fine. The start of the end that was needed IMO.

And we don't steal the best youth players from L1 and L2 to sell on at a mark up either.

Their business model is basically "God I hope the Academy continues to bail us out 'cos we've got no bloody idea what to do otherwise".

Going the same way as Blackpool c2016 and Wigan a couple of seasons later. Venkys won't be bothered because the losses and funding required to avoid administration will be significantly less than currently.

Appointing someone who has been fired in his previous three jobs within 12 months was stupid and made even more so with the award of a contract for more than 3 years. His position will become untenable when the club is adrift at the foot of the Championship table before Xmas. I listen to his interviews and am not surprised the players are so clearly confused by his spiel.

If this guy loses every game until the end of the season does anybody think they would sack him?

I don’t understand the need to give him such a massive contact especially when they wouldn’t do the same for Eustace.

The board have just painted themselves into a corner now as he looks clueless and we have no money to change it.

Too early to judge him. The players haven't shown up but some of them are too worn down by now to operate, and/or are conserving their bodies a little for that next contract.

We are a shambles behind the scenes and missed the boat big-time in January. That's why we're here.

No chance.

’unlucky with injuries’ ‘summer gives him chance to put his stamp on the team’ ‘positives to see despite the results’.

I think he'd try and save face by walking.

There'll be some bullshit mutual agreement statement wheeled out saying he misses his family or something
