Brittain.  Carter.   Hyam.    Ribeiro

                 Travis.   Sonny

    Kargbo.    Weimann.     Cantwell

                       Gueye

Subs - Toth, JRC, Sanderson, Forshaw, Dolan, Hedges, Woodrow, ACD, Ohashi

I think we have to get Cantwell out of the #10 position. He doesn’t carry a goal threat, nor does he assist. Imo he’s better from deeper / the left and could be a good foil for a flying player like Kargbo on the other side. Plus, we need to get goalscorers like Weimann as close to Gueye as possible.

Derby 1 - 3  Rovers - Gueye x2 and Kargbo.

This is potentially one big 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌

Derby have lost their last three games, bottom of the table, and Eustace asking the boys to use their togetherness to do him a really big favor.

And they need to avoid the drop with a moral boosting win. Own goal from Dolan?  🤔

Toth

Brittain Carter Hyam Ribeiro

Tronstad Travis

Ohashi Cantwell Kargo

Gueye

Options off the bench: Dolan, Weimann, Hedges, Cozier-Duberry, Sanderson, Woodrow, JRC, Pears

That's my squad too I think minus Batth that's our strongest line up

Other than the odd result Derby haven't been conceedung many. But are really struggling to create and score. We also know that feeling.

Team selection is interesting. The back seven pick themselves, but that is where the fun starts. People suggesting Cantwell out left, Ohashi out right, Kargbo out left, Hedges out right.

I wouldn't try and be too clever in this game.

I'd start Dolan, Hedges, Ohashi and Gueye. All in their preferred ppositions. Its a basic requirement of football to be able to run. All four of them can and will.

Its a tough one as we have such poor options out wide. But Derby are there to be attacked.

Is it really that tough judging on the last game performances. Karbgo, Weimann and Hedges were good, Dolan and Cantwell poor. How is that tough decision to make?

Probably go with Gueye with Ohashi just off him. Kargbo left so the question mark is wide right.

Have you taken into account that Gueye and Kargbo unlike to be able more 70/75 mins for obvious reasons.

13 games without a win for Derby

Haven't scored at home since Boxing Day.

I would put everything I own on a home win here, and I bet they will hardly break a sweat doing it like Swansea the other week.

The most obvious result of the weekend.

Weimann and Hedges were on the bench for a reason. Neither are starting players as we’ve seen over the course of the season. I agree Dolan and Cantwell were poor on Saturday. Dennis is going to be banned and Buckley is injured. All of a sudden we’re scraping the barrel again. What’s happened with Woodrow ? Surely he must come into the reckoning now.

How long have you been watching Rovers ?

Derby don't concede a lot for a team at the bottom of the league, and we don't score a lot. They don't score a lot either. Eustace will be negative and try and grind points out.

0-0

Long enough to know that we won't turn up on Saturday.

Amazed that anyone think we'll turn up there and win comfortably.

Hedges was ok but he didnt really do much going forward and certainly not to outrank a season (and beyond) of poor and ineffective performances.

Weimann is a very useful impact sub to have but as we have seen playing him away from home in particular, he can struggle from the start.

So as I said, difficult decision to make. Our wide areas are a very weak position. You look at some of our rivals and the options they have in those positions, and its night and day.

Every single ingredient is in place for a recipe for disaster here. Hope to god I am wrong because nothing less than a win will be enough for our fading play-off ambitions.

  • Sell out relatively large away following travelling in confidence/expectation - rarely bodes well
  • Eustace factor / added spice
  • Our struggles in recent weeks and unconvincing performances
  • Most of the season we have struggled away against struggling sides - Plymouth, Oxford, Millwall, Swansea
  • They have a couple of monkeys on their back that will have to end soon - no goals in ages, no wins in ages, no points or wins for Eustace, risk of getting cut adrift
  • They need a result to keep in touch with the teams just outside the bottom 3 - if they don't they will be adrift very soon with the likes of Hull and Stoke still collecting points
  • As others have pointed out their defensive record isn't bad for a team in their position and given our troubles putting the ball in the net and Eustace/Ismael caution expect a low scoring affair decided by an odd goal

So yeah, I'm worried. The thought of 3000 Rovers fans spending 90 minutes obsessing over and abusing Eustace rather than the real scumbags sat in the directors box doesn't appeal either.

Was on a stag do with a good number of Rovers fans over the weekend. Thought I’d test the water re Eustace, to a man he was a snake and the owners didn’t get a mention - which makes sense to me, most fans couldn’t care less about the off field stuff.

We have also lost our last 10 away games against newly promoted sides.

Weimann had no problems at WBA away did he?

Its not difficult at all is it to pick a starting 11 to win the game. Hedges was better than Dolan and did well when he came on.

No consideration for Gueye and Karbgo at all?

I will be spending my time supporting the players on the pitch and Ismael. Not interested Eustace one bit

very similar to a number of people I speak to whether friends, family, people at Ewood that they are unhappy at Eustace saying one thing after Wolves game, then a different comment when at Derby, Plus other comments he during his spell here about being a family and being together as one.

Agreed...Im going but i'm not looking forward to it one bit. Mostly because I know I'll be cringing throughout the whole match at fans chanting against Eustace.

Single points will not be enough for Eustace this season.

He got away with it with us, last season, but only just, as we had enough points in the bag, when he arrived.

Granted we got the unexpected wins at Leeds and Leicester, but unless you count the Stoke game as his, he never won a single home game.

Derby 0 Rovers 0. but I hope, I am wrong and we attack them to death.

  • Moderation Lead

As others have opined, the usual Rovers pattern to the following:

1) Big away following

2) Grudge match

3) Team out of form

Is an easy win for the out of form team. We've been here before.

Derby 1 - 0 Roves. Nyambe 90+5. Come on, this is the most Rovers mess it up fixture of all time 😂.

Very cynical of me yes, but I just feel like its inevitable. A touch of Millwall away about it.

Predicted team:

                       Pears

Brittain   Carter    Hyam    Ribeiro

             Travis    Tronstad

 Dolan         Weimann        Kargbo

                      Gueye

I’m not picking on Dolan but how he can expect to get picked again after Saturday’s awful performance says a lot about our current squad. Nobody up front really stood out but he was beyond poor. He was more likely to set up a goal for Norwich as he was for Rovers. How many times did he get caught in possession and lose the ball ? I like the lad usually but there has to be consequences for performances like that.
