Even a fairly large percentage of season ticket holders must be thinking "nah fuck that". Honestly can't remember feeling this despondent in a long time  about Rovers. Its pretty much exactly what most of expected under VI though, arguably even worse! Mad to think how far away we are now from Gueye and his cheer leading, even he has stopped smiling.

Waggott must be planning his departure at the end of the season I'm convinced of it, then he'll leave someone else to try and pick up the pieces. Whilst I'm sure we all agree him leaving is good news, I dread to think which desperate cretin will replace him....

On a personal level, as a lifelong supporter of coming up to 40 years, even checking the score tomorrow will be a chore. How did it come to this.....

I’m a season ticket holder that won’t be there tomorrow… or for the rest of the season. Unless things change over summer, I’ll be saving my money next season. I’ve been going for years too.

We feel despondent because we at last had a little bit of hope and belief.

No star players, no mercenaries, a bunch of honest professionals playing as a team, overcoming their limitations and giving their all.

Defenders defending, midfielders running and attackers trying to create. It's not been pretty all season, but it's been honest.

I'm disappointed how we have collapsed. I thought we were mentally a lot stronger.  Other than Gueye and perhaps Ribeiro everyone else had a drop off in form. We miss Batth and Weimann.

I’ll be there for usual piss up and then on Blackburn end to watch them. Despite recent bollox we are undefeated in last 3 league games at ewood.

rovers 2 1 Cardiff shit scrappy game with occasional flashes of magic……. RTID

Yeah, I can see us winning tomorrow and await the "We're only x points off the play off places" posts in the aftermath.

Then it'll be back to reality at Pompey.

The players aren’t the issue. Apart from a disastrous 2 month spell under JDT, when relationships crumbled, these players have consistently batted above their average for a few seasons.

The issue is that the new manager is utter wank.

Sacre Bleu!

Pears

Sanderson Hyam Carter

Brittain Travis Tronstad Riberio

Dolan Gueye Ohashi

1-0 defeat. The above formation is garbage. Decent wingbacks but the 2 midfielders aren’t expansive enough to do the job and the lack of a number 10 to link the midfield & attack is a huge issue. The defence aren’t used to playing a back 3 which is why Hyam made the mistake on Wednesday - too many spaces in between on a huge pitch and Stoke took advantage.

We know Rovers, we win this one. We then spend all of the international break getting soundbites of play off aspirations and lose pitifully for the next few games. We've been here so many times, then the self sabotage kicks in.

Think even them days are gone now.

Everyone has given up.

The fact it's so important to Cardiff makes me think they will slightly edge it.

Every part of me thinks you are right, but this is Rovers and it so Rovers like to win it.

Disclaimer - Obviously if they score first we are completely screwed.

Sure, if the past 15 years, especially the last 3 haven't taught us anything.

Sanderson, Dennis and Forshaw didn't get us into the play off places. We'd have been bottom of the table if we'd played them since the beginning of the season.

The manager may be part of it, but whoever they appointed we were set up to fail.

All thanks to "we don't need to spend anything" Sufail.

Sure, if you think Forshaw has been a regular and Tronstad and Travis haven’t been excellent all season. Sanderson has played about twice.  You’re referencing squad players to make a point about the first team.

Anyway, the discussion was about the mentality of the players, not squad depth. We all know the issues there, and that was the main reason for the Jan slump under both Eustace and JDT. As soon as a key player or two is injured it goes down hill rapidly. It’s accelerating now because the new manager is shite.

We were 5th when Eustace left. We were GD from the play offs after a full season under JDT.

The mentality of the players is evidently fine.

We just can't afford to start Dolan and Cantwell in the starting line up. Personally neither would start for me but it's more palatable to only have one player giving the ball away so much of getting caught in possession.

The back five experiment needs to be ditched in favour of an extra midfielder as Stoke ran all over us in that department and I suspect Cardiff will pack that area and only play one up front.

Cardiff play Robinson up front on his own and I would imagine Cardiff will come 4-1-4-1 formation and play deeper.

We need to start JRC as he is goal threat, Ohashi and Gueye need to play up front together.

We need to get more crosses in and play in their half. Our confidence at the minute is a massive problem and we need to start well and get that first goal

You're only saying that because Dunn said it after the game on Radio Lancs.

As said above, you can't play Cantwell and Dolan together.

If we have to persist with 3 at the back then someone has to come into midfield and make it more a 352 rather than a 343.

I am saying that we need more attackers into the box and we need goals in the team, Dunn made a very good point and I agree with him.

We're going to lose, probably 1-2 or 0-2. Won't be watching after the last 2 shitshows. Got things to do around teh house and then build up to the England rugby match. However my team would be:

                   Pears

Brittain Hyam Carter Riberio

          Travis Tronstad

JRC         Buckley       Dennis

                Guye

Brittain looked knackered the other night so could put JRC there but I'd rather see him further forward and hope Brittain looks a bit fresher given his crossing ability.

I'm referencing them because there was no way we were going to maintain our league position with them. Eustace knew that, and it was obvious to most people on here besides the likes of Chaddy. They clearly haven't been brought in as squad players as we're relying on them too much. If they were signed as squad players then that's even more disgraceful as we needed players who could make an impact on the team.

It's all interconnected. The mentality of the players will be shot to pieces when they bust a gut to get into the position they were, then saw the likes of Forshaw and Woodrow bolstering the ranks, along with a bloke who hadn't played in ages. Then Eustace leaves because he has no fucking chance, and there's no way that turmoil is helping anyone.

We didn't slump in January, the rot set in a few weeks before when our squad depth was found wanting.

Ismael may very well be the wrong man, but the only right man would have been to keep Eustace and hope for the best. And he wasn't taking us up either after the annual Swaggfail January sabotage.

Narrator’s voice: ‘He has scored 8 goals in 107 career matches’.

David Dunn was saying this post match after Stoke, how JRC could replace Weimann’s goals. No wonder the guy couldn’t ever keep a coaching job in football.

Edit: Mark beat me to it above.
