There have been so many final straws. Football fans are very fickle but they are also fiercely loyal and for unfathomable reasons we’re all still here. O’Brien was the final straw and McGuire was the final nail in the coffin. We’d long since run out of metaphors by the time Eustace left for a relegation candidate after being the 3rd manager to be let down in the January window after getting the team into playoff contention.  I really hope I can disengage more completely this time.

All id say to give a bit of perspective is under Eustace on 10th April 2024 we got battered 5-0 away at Bristol City to leave us only 3 points above the drop.

Since Eustace had taken over by the Bristol game we had managed to win 1 in 10 games...

I guess I am saying what Ismael has achieved is terrible so far, but not really different to where we were under Eustace last year

Eustace took over a team in free fall.

Ok, he didn’t win games to begin with, but he immediately got to grips with the basics, eg tightening up the defence, and made us much harder to beat, (with the exception of the game you have mentioned ).

Yes, our form had already dipped prior to his departure this season, but we were still in the top six, and there is no way he’d have overseen the pathetic sequence of results we have just witnessed.

Im sorry, but Ismael walked in to an entirely different set of circumstances.

He didn’t appoint himself, and clearly the main blame lies with the ownership and the clowns running the circus at Ewood.

However, Ismael does not get a free pass.

A shocking appointment.

We will win, and all we be forgotten, happens every time, unfortunately.

Who do you see us beating? VI has now lost to 3 of the bottom 5 teams in the league, we'll definitely lose at Luton to make it 4. He's lucky we don't play Plymouth again or it would be all 5.

We're a pathetic shell of a football team/club.

Hmmm I suppose so, but Eustace took over a team completely bereft of confidence whereas Ismael joined a club in the playoffs and repeatedly spoke of how united the squad was and what a good attitude they had. That has completely evaporated in 2 weeks which is some achievement.

Our form had dipped but not to the extent of 3 losses back to back against bottom 5 sides. The tactics have been noticeably more passive, the players dont appear to have a clue what they are meant to be doing and numerous strange decisions have been made amidst it all.

The issue is the owners, always has been and whilst they are here, always will be. The squad is crap, its been run down and Eustace was working miracles. But its not losing 3 on the bounce to bottom 5 teams bad.

If we can send him back now, we absolutely should. He is a useless block to any of our actually contracted young players. The loan signings have, almost entirely, been a disaster.

May be the case but aside from a few exceptions, not much coming through, especially in attack. Our lead fit striker, Harrison Wood, couldn’t get a game for Annan Athletic, whilst on loan in Scotland this season. He might’ve been injured but then, most of the U21 forwards are, for some reason.

Today was dogshit and it felt like the end of the world. In first half from Blackburn end rankin Costello hit it down wing and it flew out of play like a non league clearance. Again joe far better than that as we and you know you can be. Something isn’t right atm. Referee an absolute disgrace how you can give a penalty then not a joke. Once you give it you do. Anyway all I can say is RTID! 2 week break then let’s get stuck into pompey

People were laughing at Eustace when he left for Derby and started with consecutive defeats. Now won 3 in a row!

By contrast we have the worst points record over the last 6 games----4----which we share with Oxford.

All for a measly £500,000 in compo.

A manger is not unimportant, you can't just replace one with another and assume the same outcomes.

Eustace was the perfect fit for us and once again Venkys have let it all slip between their fingers.

We have no hope.

Them fuckers are meant to be professional players, they should hold their heads in disgrace. Walking up Livesey branch a young lad was crying his eyes out because of his disappointment, I wish the players could have seen it.

During Stoke game and again today an opposition player gets on field treatment.  During pause in play team would normally run to manager for advice but not in our case.

Yes, the guy I sit next to pointed it out, and it said a lot.

All the Cardiff players ran across to speak to their coaching team.

Most of ours stood around looking listless on the pitch.

They did that for most of the game.

We’ve had poor teams before, - very poor teams. I always had hope though. Now I have none.

How can anyone have hope? Nobody has faith in the manager and the team now doesn’t even show the basic necessities for success.  The top man at Ewood has zero ambition and wouldn’t know a good manager or a good player. He thinks we’ve just had an excellent Jan transfer window. Half the team will walk away for free and there’ll be no money to replace them, despite us having mega rich owners.

The absent owners have been here for 15 years and things have gone downhill from day one. There’s nothing to make me believe that trajectory will change.

It’s just another day of moaning but honestly, the fundamentals for success just don’t exist.

I'm reminded of porridge the movie.

Fletcher: Don't look at me. I've grown disenchanted with the game. Twenty years of supporting Orient does that for a man

It's much the same being a rovers fan. We're nailed on too go down next year, unless something big happens. This valerian geezer (I've got sleeping pills made of valerian by the way, is this a coincidence?) is the bottom of the barrel. I'm going to assume he's going to be here next season and won't get sacked until December. By which stage we'll be firmly in the drop zone. We've been cruising for a bruising for so long, flogging off the silver and replacing it with tat. Only so long you can do that before the cracks start widening.

And if we go down, that's it. We wouldn't get back up without a change of ownership.

And still they won't sell. What a shower of arseholes there people are. I hope their next shit is a pineapple

Nobody at the Rovers is accountable for anything.

Nixon on one on twitter - full 'blame the fans for being toxic' and 'defend the club' mode.

He really is a rat.

Fud. Ignore. He claimed there were 150 applicants. Total nonsense. Nixon stabs in the dark...

Someone should remind him he suggested we offered a salary that wasn't enough for our 1st choice targets. If that article were true, the fans would be within rights to be upset and underwhelmed.

It's no exaggeration to say this team would currently lose to most of L1. Frightening to think that next seasons team is likely to be even worse after the departure of several senior players and under the same coaching /management regime.
