It was either on this forum or elsewhere that I saw it...but a poster with contacts close to the club shared that four consortiums have tried to make an offer to buy Rovers within the last 18 months. Two of those are American consortiums, one from the Middle East and one UK based. All have been turned away. Somebody on the EFL 72 podcast revealed that he knows somebody who tried to make an enquiry to buy Rovers two months ago but was turned down.

If those two pieces of info above are to be believed, that's FIVE different parties that want to buy the club. "But who else will buy us?". Said by people who, IMO, have a low opinion of the club and who apply our (generally speaking) working class lives, outlooks and normal daily business rules to the world of football. £20m is astronomical to most 'normal' people, but those seriously looking at buying football clubs are in a different world financially. Look at this lot in Pune not blinking at putting in that much for a decade plus, until the Court in India started asking questions. These aren't the last wealthy people on the planet. Everybody else around us and in the Leagues below can find new owners, yet Rovers, with more pedigree than many, can't find better than this? Give over. Those are the words of the defeated and the lost. When we have new owners, these same people will be rejoicing and saying "I always knew Venky's had to go". Right now, they are playing the safety game and trying be the 'wise' fan. "I dislike Venky's but...". Jonty, being one of many of that school of thought.

In any case, new owners wouldn't be intent on covering £20m per season for long. They will have a plan to bring that figure down and then a plan to best eliminate those losses and turn the whole thing on its head. Something that terrifies this hierarchy. Promotion to the Premier League. Just because these tossers have tried to find a comfort zone in this Division, in order to avoid the spotlight and expectation in the League above, it does not mean other owners will behave in the same way and that this is now 'our level'.

There was a podcast recently where one of these 'experts' was saying that the Americans want to have a heavy presence in the Premier League in regards club ownership. The American guy Foley, as an example, has gone into Bournemouth and done an excellent job so far. We are, technically, one step away from the Prem and with our history in that League, I can see us being appealing to potential American investors. Getting these bastards out is the issue though. Them leaving Rovers will be like poison leaving the body. We will be back as a club under new owners. It's just, that change needs to happen ASAP, for all of us. This bullshit has gone on for long enough.

They can't sell the club as then their liable to SBI for the instrument bank rolling this circus... Someone will only buy the club on its value ..not its exorbitant debts which is full of shenanigans and SBI being government bank can't write of as bad debt due to political implications

That's interesting because if it is SBI money that this is happening with, it brings a whole different perspective to the "but, but, they put in £20m a year" cries that we hear from those who try to protect them. It feels like this could be a bit like the Glazer situation at Utd to me, whereby they aren't putting in a penny of their own money. Difference being the Glazers are openly taking dividends out every year. Now that these lot have to provide a personal guarantee in order to send funds over, they suddenly don't fancy it. Hmm.

Nobody should be feeling sorry for these bastards or feeling grateful towards them for keeping the lights on. They have wrecked a Premier League club. The car salesman has tried his best to win sympathy for them. The friends of Kentaro have tried their best to win sympathy for them. However, bullshit only lasts for so long before the truth starts showing itself. The tide is starting to turn with the fans.

not even 1 journalist will ask this question cause then everything will rip open at the seam ...now you know why they been hauled to court and why court asking them to put guarantee to send SBI monies to fund their overseas venture....

all this 20m per year is all a smokescreen ... with we don't know how many contracts were awarded with kickbacks, inflated agent fees and cooked books ...this itself an income stream ...

now imagine a buyer comes , financial auditing comes along with calling of original instruments ...

now with all this , if you are Venky, will you allow promotion ?

The B'stard Venkys want to keep us as the family Pet.

They point blank refuse to sell for some reason but have lost Hundreds of Millions,go figure.

My biggest fear is they will pass us down through their family. We will probably be all dead by then.

Let the good times Roll.

Venkys are the ones who instigated the proceedings.

this i don't think so... its due to the house they bought ...can't justify it as need of business which they took SBI instrument for ... but i honestly believe they prolonging it for some reason , maybe they know SBI will call instrument for misuse of investment and they will ask to dispose the investment and go into recovery mode... as long as this case goes on STATUS QUO maintained , we wither and they wait for favorable political climate to write off this ... hoping some day a documentary is made about this

Question for any auditors/accountants. Venkys need to arrange a new bank overdraft facility for the club in May (announced in Companies House filing in November) - given more court delays and lack of star player fee in horizon, will that process shed any light for fans?

The investigation by the Directorate of Enforcement led to them being unable to send money abroad.

This prompted them to go to court to try and get this restriction lifted.

As @wilsdenrover said, the court case was brought about by venkys challenging the ED's decision to not grant them a No Objection Certificate.

Since that all started they've sold the house and it appears they've been given permission to send an extra £15 million.

I'm assuming this is just sitting in the VLL account until they've run out of money at the club.

What you say about kickbacks, inflated contracts and agent fees all seems to be a likely scenario. We know for a fact that they've done a lot of that in the past. When you read about money laundering in football, this is generally how it's done. From day one they've been doing this stuff and they only tightened things up once the investigation was underway.

There's a case to be made for them being just disinterested in the club but that doesn't explain all the involvement with corrupt agents and corrupt organisations like Kentaro. Throw into that the investigation and a different sort of picture starts to emerge.

Since day one there's always been something dodgy about their presence here, what you say about the way they've financed this whole operation seems more than plausible, although I'm not any kind of specialist on how the Indian finance system works.

There seems to have been enough pressure on them to sell the house so maybe the pressure could get to the point whereby they have to sell the club to relieve it. We as fans can play our part in building up that pressure by getting them in the spotlight.
