KentExile Posted yesterday at 06:46 Posted yesterday at 06:46 (edited) Just to take him at face value (I know, I know), the positions that we want to sign are... Centre back - presumably with Hyam (a high earner due a contract renewal) leaving Box to box midfielder - presumably with either Travis or Tronstad (high earners due a contract renewal) leaving Right back - presumably with Brittain (due a contract renewal and wage increase) leaving Right winger - presumably with Dolan (due a contract renewal and wage increase) leaving Striker - presumably whilst trying to shift Cantwell (a high earner) if at all possible It does seem to me to be a huge coincidence that all of the positions that they want to buy players in, just so happen to also be the positions where our current top earners (or those due a pay increase) operate. I am sure that the narrative will be that they didn't fit how Ismael wanted to play. In some cases, this may even be true. I cannot see Cantwell working in the high pressing, high intensity team that we are told we will become. But why do I get the feeling that all of these signings will be on significantly less money than those who they replace? Edited yesterday at 07:19 by KentExile 3 Quote

roverblue Posted yesterday at 08:05 Posted yesterday at 08:05 (edited) I hope Rudy and the team can find 5 players for a total outlay of a bag of haribo and a fizzy pop. Also given we have 12-13 leaving its not even half of what we need. Total BS to try and flog some season tickets. Edited yesterday at 08:05 by roverblue 2 Quote

Also, the fucking goalkeeper has Ryvita for hands but it's not deemed a priority position? 2 Quote

Yesterdays interviews/propaganda indicated that any other gaps in the squad will be filled with kids from the academy. I am particularly referencing the part where he said about getting back to 2000+ minutes on the pitch for academy graduates Edited yesterday at 08:28 by KentExile 3 Quote

Wouldn't be surprised if they extend his deal in the summer. 2 Quote
chaddyrovers Posted yesterday at 11:12 Posted yesterday at 11:12 In his interview with Elliott Jackson, Gestede mentioned about getting some transfer business done early in the summer. Biggest club he will have worked at. Exactly how this lot like it. Note the Barnet link too. A similar appointment a couple of years ago saw somebody come in as 'head of emerging talent' or some bullshit like that. He also had a previous role at Barnet. He is coming in as one of the main scouts. I haven't heard or watched the video - but does he mention a goalkeeper as a priority? Quote

We need around 10 new signings this summer. 2 Quote
Ferrit Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago Best I can do is a striker who scores one in 30 and a couple of other lads who can’t get a game in League 1. Quote
Lancaster Rover Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago The players due wage increases/clauses/ are our most saleable assets which we look set to lose for a fraction of their value (or feee) if they do not renew their contracts. Absolutely crazy business if true. 1 Quote
