The summer transfer window was decent but nowhere near as bad as you make but clearly Ohashi, Weimann, Batth, Gueye and Beck were all crap signings in your opinion. 

Who knows what this window will be like but I ain't going to write it off in April like you have done already. 

 

You won't have written it off next April FFS, it will be "give them time", "we might still stay up if we win the last 6 games"

When we dont sign "2 or 3 before pre season" it will be be patient FFS other teams havent signed anyone either.

When it becomes clear we wont be spending much it will be well you can still sign quality on frees and loans.

When we give sub par players an extra year it will be that they wont be playing every week but they can give good depth to the squad.

Kargbo did look pacy and talented in his limited game time. I wasn't convinced we should have signed him, but I think he showed enough to suggest he can be one of our 2 left wingers next year (still need another for rotation). His assist for Dolan was genuine moment of brilliance that not many in our squad would/could have done.

Issue is we have so many holes to fill with all the guys leaving (loans and frees), and if (when...) we sell our spine of Trav/Tronstad/Hyam/Brittain we won't replace them with as good quality.

Manchester City want to sign Blackburn’s brilliant South African kid Camden Schaper - at the age of 13!

 

Attacking midfielder Schaper is a stand out at youth level after coming to England with his family just over a year ago.

 

Rovers signed Schaper, who already has a contract with Adidas, just a year ago and he could now be heading for the Manchester giants.

 

City already have Schaper’s kid brother Astin who is a talented keeper. He is only 12 but has been with them for months.

 

Meanwhile Blackburn are sorting out a new deal for young striker Joe Boggan who is entering the last year of his current contract and attracting big interest.

 

Boggan, 17, is expected to agree terms on a long term stay in the next few days. He is due to make his first team debut in the run in.

Everton midfielder Harrison Armstrong is on Blackburn’s hit list for a summer move.

 

Armstrong has been a stand-out for Derby County on loan and he could head for the Championship again next season.

 

Rovers had lined up a move for Armstrong before the Rams took him. Ironically previous boss John Eustace was keen on another more experienced target.

 

Now Blackburn are looking for younger players either on loan or for bargain fees and Armstrong is one of them.

cos Rovers have said they aren't going millions pounds signings like Gallagher or BBD or Rhodes, But we are shopping in free, loans and looking for gems for low fees like we did with Ohashi, Gueye, Karbgo and Toth. That what Rovers board have decide to do with the budget. 

I wish we spend more money on transfers fees especially on a new keeper and right winger this summer but we shouldn't turn our nose at a good free transfer signing or quality loan signing like Beck

We could end up needing at least 10 new additions plus 2 new goalies to replace, IMO, the calamitous Pears and Toth (on evidence of his handful of games, Toth is another Wahlstedt).

Loanees all heading back: ACD, Beck, Dennis, Sanderson and Woodrow.  Only Beck would be worth trying to keep though with Ribeiro now contracted, an unlikely pursuit.

Contracts up: Batth, Dolan, Forshaw, Hedges, Weimann.  Think Dolan will go and is clearly putting himself in 'the shop window' as opposed to a new found loyalty for Rovers otherwise would have agreed a new deal 12-18 months ago.  Batth and possibly Weimann (subject to him proving his fitness following knee surgery) worth keeping.  Forshaw and Hedges should be shown the door.

Contracts up in 2026: Brittain, Hyam, Travis and Tronstad - tbh, could see at least 2 of those leaving if their agents can get them the right gig as difficult to see our 'better' players staying based on what's happened this season.

I think we are in the deepest of shite and unless Ismeal is binned, I can only see us cut adrift at the bottom of the Championship by Christmas with a team made up of loanees, cheap signings and desperados.

All of what you say is true and all of what you say has been self inflicted by the owners and board.

It didn't need to be this way yet they have created this mess that is going to take a miracle to navigate through and avoid anything other than a prolonged struggle.

I hope everyone remembers this when the shit hits the fan big time, rather than hiding behind nonsensical claims about FFP, parachute payments, low gates etc.
