The stooges will be hoping and praying that other Championship clubs come in with cash offers for Travis, Hyam, Carter, Tronstad and Brittain. Between them there will be a few million to put into the drawer, a couple of the higher earner off the books and an opportunity to go and get cheaper replacements.

This is the long game - they will refuse to even speak to them about new contracts and in doing so force those players to scour the market for new clubs - they can't sit around for months or years waiting for Rovers to offer them terms, they will have agents looking at what else there is out there. Who can blame them.

So then when their heads are turned and minds made up to go elsewhere Rovers can play the victim card and pretend that they wanted to keep those players but in the circumstances need to be letting them go.

They've done this time and time again, such as with Lenihan and Nyambe. A lot of people fell for it last time. Surely they won't be so stupid to fall for it again?

I shudder to think what sort of a season we will have without our best players. Relegation will be nailed on.

Not interested. You'll be saying the same thing in the summer if (when) we release / sell half this squad that has us in the top 6 under a good manager.

Nyambe shouldn't have got a new contract. He isn't good full back and better as centre back in a back 3.

No I won't be saying the same if Travis, Tronstad or Brittain are sold. On Hyam, I could be tempted to sell him if we receive a good offer for him especially if we re-sign Batth and another centre back signing. Plus we have Carter and Wharton aswell.

I wouldn't sign any of the loan players(apart from Beck) we have here, would you? That's 5 players we have to replace. Beck would cost too much IMO and I can see Brentford or lower PL team signing him

Would you re-sign Batth, Weimann and Ribeiro if it was your decision?

I expect Dolan to leave.

Don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere but a new appointment for the scouting team - seems well qualified tbh

Apologies if he's been on thread somewhere

If Eustace was our manager still, I'd be re-signing Batth, Riberio and Weimann. Fairly straight forward decisions.

Now that Ismael is here and seems to want to move to a possession based approach, I'm not so sure.

I'd still sign up Ribeiro, I think, but no point in Batth, he isn't really the CB you want for a team passing it out from the back. Neither are Carter, Hyam and most definitely not Scott Wharton, who struggled under JDT, either tbh.

Weimann probably, but it's largely down to the fact we don't have a pot to piss in, and he'll be a good option off the bench. He's an experienced championship player and has done well for us overall.

In that case it sounds like the board have appointed a manager who needs a £20million budget 😃
