Back in the mid 80's, my Dad's mate married a lass from Burnley and moved over that way,

At the drop of a hat, he ditched going to Ewood in favour of the Turd. This was at the time they were in the old 4th division IIRC.

Bizarre.

He was never spoken to again.

Perhaps it wasn't a hat that was dropped.

Some people have stopped going for the sake of their health. The whole situation rendering them at risk of stroke or heart attack it makes them so angry. They still have an interest in football and now watch local non league

Perhaps the reason for early season tickets sales is a need to get some funds in.

I genuinely can't understand how anyone can drop support for one team and pick up with another, whatever the circumstances.

Just imagine if your son wants to support a different team to yours and you wanted to take him that who he wants to support, are you going to tell your 7 years old son no he has to support Rovers and actually take him to that team's games? Yes you might not have the same passion but you have passion cos its your son's team

Some Rovers fans who now go and watch Stanley on a regular basis instead of Rovers

If people move away or leave an area for whatever reason then they may go to watch another team just to see a game of football. But that’s it it’s not really support it’s just watching another team live now and again

Very good point. Some on here do do this and I know someone at work who does similar, his son loves watching football

I still find it hard to comprehend that having announced they are on sale from Tuesday they still haven't released any information about categories or pricing.

I've never seen that done before. Surely you release the prices before putting them on sale so people know what the deal is and can get their funds in order to buy?

There are only two possible explanations. One is that they are going up, they know full well the furore that this is going to create and the impact this will have on already pitiful sales, so are trying to just delay that as long as possible.

Or despite deciding to put them on sale in 2 days' time they haven't got around to finalising pricing or perhaps haven't yet informed those in the media department of the details, which wouldn't be a surprise down there.

prices will either be announce tomorrow or Tuesday morning. Are you renewing now?

I can't make a decision until prices are released. I find it bizarre that you or anyone else would expect anyone to commit to a position on anything before the club can even be arsed to announce prices. You and Rovers seem to have this attitude/belief that people should just renew regardless of things such as price.

I'll be honest with you - I am undecided - there are many, many factors to consider. Price is of course one, but personally speaking not the most important issue. The ludicrous number of games moved to inconvenient times is a major issue which I accept Rovers don't control but I expect to see Rovers reducing their prices to compensate for it. My job and circumstances do not prevent me from attending midweek and evening games but I don't enjoy it - I do not want to rush back from work then rush down to a morgue-like atmosphere on a Tuesday night then not get home until nearly 11.

But beyond all the above is the other stuff that has been repeated many many times and is within Rovers' control and I am loathe to sign up for it again. I certainly won't be rushing into a decision in March/April. I think that is what Waggott is banking on - people signing up and handing their money over before their summer agenda is revealed.

I'll make a decision at the last minute when I can weigh up the pros and cons.

I think this is fair, my best mate still says he's going because it's important time spent with his son. It depends on your motivations. Take me and my dad for example, he took me to old Ewood and passed me over the turnstile in the Blackburn end as a kid. We've lived the dream, now we go and leave only with stress, apathy and disappointment, we've had enough.

To anyone who thinks I'm bad person for encouraging fans not to go, if it means much needed time spent with your family and friends then I encourage you to go. However for those who go out of habit, for those who are pissed off, for those living in false hope, for those looking for the most effective way to protest...

DO NOT BUY A SEASON TICKET.

That's precisely why I'll still be going, it's time with my kids andemories for us. That comes before anything else. I'm all for these turds being forced out but I can't not tale the kids just because of my own opinions on things and furthermore they don't understand it all but perhaps teaching them now is better

This is main social activity. my job or circumstances don't stop me attending any games. Midweek game I get a couple of hours less sleep given I work nights but nothing to worry about.

I grateful for such a thoughtful and honest response JH

I suspect you are correct on this.

It’s been 6 months or more since any sales. Whatever instalments they have or will still get for Wharton or Szmodic are already gone on operating costs.

Venkys used to put £20m a season into the club but haven’t done a penny in 18 months so funds will probably be running out now. They will have had to find £30m which is about what those two combined brought in plus a ticket and tv money.

I think the season ticket prices should be as follows:

adults 150

Seniors/full time students £100

Kids 16 and under £23

Not only are you helping out with cost of living your securing another generation of fans and like me and many others do I’ll always buy a few pints few raffle tickets when I go it will all add up if you got if you got 20 odd k every week.

So with that in mind are we looking at a price freeze or hiking it up?

Rovers 'fans' who now go and watch Stanley are fans of neither club.

I'm sorry, but I just can't relate to your '7 year old' hypothesis.

My daughter was brought up a Rovers fan, she was given no choice in the matter, as I didn't thanks to my father, nor him from his father.  Like me, she has no interest in any other club. If Rovers didn't exist in the future, then we would watch no other team. She understands what it's all about and what it means.

That's just the the way it is.

It makes me sad that such an important part of our community is being run into the ground, especially as we prepare to celebrate 150 years of the club. If I had the money I would do something about it - but I probably never will. I used to be a season ticket holder but I'm currently 3500 miles away, so not an option at the moment. However, If I lived back at home I would love to occasionally attend games again with my old friends and family, not to support venkys though.

As a side note I've noticed that anti rovers/venkys posts are being deleted on the official Facebook page.

I reckon the prices will be £299-349 for season 25-26 for adults.

Kids under £23.

Students and over 65 will be £219-249

I could well wrong but hopefully not

I hope you are wrong, because those prices you've quoted will not excite many.

After the way the clubs been mismanaged for well over a decade, the club should offer fantastic deals in this our 150th anniversary.

Adults £199

Students £150

OAP £150

U18 £99

U12 Free

Thrown away our best chance in years to get out of this league and they expect you to pay for it.

don't worry they have a cunning plan to get us out of this league next season, not sure you will be happy with the out come.

Slightly off topic but at Man City from next season, the only fans who will be able to buy a season ticket will be existing ST holders. Any newcomers will be able to buy a flexi ticket.  That means that prior to every home game those fans will be contacted (or maybe they will have to contact the club) to see if they were going to attend the next game. If they were, then all well and good. If they aren’t then the club will sell their seat for that game to someone else. Any flexi ticket holder who misses a certain number of games without telling the club they weren’t going to attend those games will have their flexi ticket taken away. Man City say that around 3000 ST holders weren’t attending a game for any given home game and want the right to sell those empty seats again.

The future?

I think a few clubs are doing that now. All the top clubs are trying to reduce the number of season ticket holders. They then sell the seats at inflated prices to tourists..

Rovers are ahead of the game. We are already selling season tickets at inflated prices.

City claim they aren’t doing that but my ST holding mate sits next to other ST holders - and at one game their seats were occupied by Americans who had paid £400 each for their ticket. The following day those Americans were going to watch Arsenal as part of a package.
