The club does exist. Supporters continue to back the club, attend games and pay their hard earned cash to watch their Rovers team. It's Rovers in name only. It is not the club I grew up supporting.

The parasites are now the only life in the host.
Mattyblue Posted Saturday at 20:50 Share Posted Saturday at 20:50 Interesting reading the comments under the official Rovers Facebook post re season tickets, read more like a brfcs thread. Quite the sea change in the fanbase in just a month or so…

I've always liked to think that my ST money has helped contribute to the wages of some of the few good people left behind the scenes at the club. Seems there has been a massive shift recently and we could be onto record low sales. I think this is fair, my best mate still says he's going because it's important time spent with his son. It depends on your motivations. Take me and my dad for example, he took me to old Ewood and passed me over the turnstile in the Blackburn end as a kid. We've lived the dream, now we go and leave only with stress, apathy and disappointment, we've had enough. To anyone who thinks I'm bad person for encouraging fans not to go, if it means much needed time spent with your family and friends then I encourage you to go. However for those who go out of habit, for those who are pissed off, for those living in false hope, for those looking for the most effective way to protest... DO NOT BUY A SEASON TICKET. Michael123458 Posted yesterday at 08:41 Share Posted yesterday at 08:41 For me like loads of you I go for the day out a few pints and watch the team. My young lad has recently turned 4 and I’m hoping to get him to a game at ewood before this season is out. I don’t buy season tickets because of sky and that now the changes to fixtures just don’t represent value for money anymore as you can guarantee half with be changed kick off time. I absolute deteste this midday on Sunday kick off absolutely ridiculous. RTID rant over thanks

Mattyblue Posted yesterday at 08:48 Share Posted yesterday at 08:48 If they now ‘support’ that club themselves, then yes they need slagging.

Absolutely right. Two former colleagues of mine moved 'away' with their families to Ripon and Richmond. Both have long since stopped the commute to Ewood. Their 'returns' became less and less frequent as their disillusionment grew. However, they are still Rovers at heart and should the whole landscape at Ewood change then they would be prepared to start again - they have never thought of changing their allegiance.

If people move away or leave an area for whatever reason then they may go to watch another team just to see a game of football. But that’s it it’s not really support it’s just watching another team live now and again

rigger Posted yesterday at 09:18 Share Posted yesterday at 09:18 I wonder if the club will say, the reason we charge more than other local clubs is to pay Waggott for his great work ?

Yes, people like you will be - you spend a load of your time on a Rovers message board, you are heavily in the financials, you get involved with the Trust, protests etc, you are obviously still heavily invested. I’m talking about the ones that just watched a game at Ewood once a fortnight and that was about it, a load of our 20,000 ST holders were such fans, they walked away c2012, they’ve gone, and the vast majority won’t ever be back, as they are long, long out the habit. JHRover Posted yesterday at 09:50 Author Share Posted yesterday at 09:50 I still find it hard to comprehend that having announced they are on sale from Tuesday they still haven't released any information about categories or pricing. I've never seen that done before. Surely you release the prices before putting them on sale so people know what the deal is and can get their funds in order to buy? There are only two possible explanations. One is that they are going up, they know full well the furore that this is going to create and the impact this will have on already pitiful sales, so are trying to just delay that as long as possible. Or despite deciding to put them on sale in 2 days' time they haven't got around to finalising pricing or perhaps haven't yet informed those in the media department of the details, which wouldn't be a surprise down there. Wheelton Blue Posted yesterday at 12:04 Share Posted yesterday at 12:04 Back in the mid 80's, my Dad's mate married a lass from Burnley and moved over that way, At the drop of a hat, he ditched going to Ewood in favour of the Turd. This was at the time they were in the old 4th division IIRC. Bizarre. He was never spoken to again.
