My question was specifically how many points does Ismael need to get in these 7 games whereby you will happily back keeping him into next season and not ask for a new manager? 0 points? 5 points? 7 points? 10 points? 14 points?

Not playing this sort of game RF99.

Results under Eustace were poor and I was unconvinced by him. I didnt call for him to be sacked though. He didnt take over a side in the top 6, he didnt have a run of really winnable games to start off with and his results werent as bad.

Eustace got 3 points from his first 5 games. He didn't win his first game until game 10. Sunderland away 5-1

You was very consistent with Eustace in not judging him at all until after the summer. The difference was obviously the condition that we didnt go down.

Are you the same with Ismael, you may have already given the answer to this/an opinion on him that I have missed so if so apologies. Ie, is it a clean slate come the summer or would you be more open to wanting him out prior?

I do think Ismael has got a lot on this summer, to say the least, the turnaround is going to be huge.

Unless he jumps ship, he isn't going anywhere whether I like it or not, so let's see what him and the club do over the summer.

I do think he's using this period to see what he's got,but the squad is woefully short on options. The club has been slaughtered for not backing Eustace in the transfer market, yet Ismael has had a poor selection of even that squad at his disposal.

As with Eustace taking over late last season, I'm just hoping this period stands him in good stead for next season.

Fair enough, your prerogative to refuse to answer is fine. I suspect its because you know that if you say a number and its not achieved then you would lose further credibility. Regardless of what happens between now and the end of the season, come the summer it will be have some patience, give him a summer to get the players he needs, too early to judge etc.

Exactly. 3 points is better than 1, especially when we hadnt played 4 of the worst teams and he had inherited a side near the bottom rather than a top 6 team. Eustace didnt impress many last season but Ismael has been something else. A total disaster.

I love how now hes gone, he can no longer have that Stoke win 😂

I think we know roughly what the club will do over the summer and it wont be good.

Only at this club can you have periods where judgement is totally frozen. Obviously he isnt anything close to the main issue, and I dont doubt that the squad is limited, but its not 0 points against Cardiff, Stoke, Derby and Portsmouth limited.

Eustace also had winnable games he didn't win last season. Or he didn't win winnable games this season like Plymouth away or Stoke at home?

No point saying another pointless argument is there

You're bang to rights on the Stoke game. As I recall there was only you who kept arguing that point at the time but now you want to downplay him you change the narrative.

You have got some front I'll give you that.

Like clockwork. It's startling in a way, comforting in another.

I have been watching football a long time and like to think I have some grasp on the game but yesterday confused me like never before. If anybody (I'm sure somebody will try) to explain what positions Woodrow and Ohashi were then you are a better man than me. The shape of the team in forward positions was so disjointed. At times players were making the same runs, going for the same balls and generally not where they should have been to cause Portsmouth problems.

So much for two weeks on the training ground.

Rovers right now was summed up by a farcical situation when Beck got injured. Although it was at the other end of the ground it looked serious and the doctor and physio were treating him. A stretcher was summoned and got half way on the pitch when Beck got up really gingerly and didn't look right. He was helped around the perimeter of the pitch clearly distressed and went down the tunnel.

This incident lasted several minutes and the game restarts with us having only ten men as Hedges wasn't ready to come on. Even at the next stoppage he didn't come on as he was still doing his laces.

It would be embarrassing if it happened this morning at Pleasington.

The lack of confidence in the vast majority of players is apparent. A few months ago some of these players were playing arguably the best football of their Rovers careers and now they look awful. Eustace squeezed every drop out of this squad but Ismael seems to have done the opposite.

Set pieces have become embarrassing offering not even the merest hint of a threat. The passing and movement has dissipated and we are so easy to play against. Yesterday we were so deep and disjointed at times we invited Portsmouth to exploit the gaps. As soon As we went one down the majority of Rovers fans feared the worst.

I honestly don't know where we go from here now. The manager has a long contract but honestly does seem to be struggling with even the most basic aspects of football management.

With most of them out of contract within the next two years and very likely not been offered a new one, along with Eustace trying to seek clarity and assurance on this issue and basically being told to go fuck himself, it's no wonder they're playing so badly.

They, like us are just counting down the games until the end of the season. The majority of the players will be doing whatever they can to get out and a lot of fans will be seriously questioning whether they'll be coming back as well.

It's going to be an interesting year as we mark the 15th anniversary of venky fc.

You have to admit though Chaddy, this is superb.

You have been telling everyone for the past 12 months that Eustace was in charge for that Stoke game so he would have another win under his belt.

Now he's gone Eustace didn't win until his 10th game.

It’s important to point out that Ismael took over a top 6 team and had the most generous possible run of fixtures!

If Ismaels here next Season, we can look forward to league 1 football.

We all knew we were losing this.

Absolutely fucking horrific appointment. Down next season with this clown in charge, 12 players leaving and no money spent.

Let's face it, at the moment we're a league 1 club. Some of the useless wankers we signed are not fit to wear the shirt. I forgot to mention that useless wanker Ismael.

Maybe it a plot from Waggot before he leaves our club, put a useless wanker of a manager in place, and get us relegated next season.

This time they've surpassed themselves though.

Which says a lot. What have they got in store for next season, burn the stadium down?

At least there will be no one in it.

Big budget cuts and survival whilst hoping to develop a few to sell.

The usual unwritten rule at Ewood whilst the back of a beer mat statement written by Groc will tell us the owners are committed and want a return to the Premier League.

He’d be hard pressed to get 21 points in a season.

Anything going on behind the scenes at Ewood or the training ground today. Crisis meetings, clear the air meetings, what the fuck is going on meetings, any bollockings being handed out ?

I remember the dingles having a bad run under Stan Ternent. It culminated in a bad home defeat. Ternent came on Radio Lancs after the game and said - “ There were players out there today that will never play for this club again “. And as far as I know they never did. He’d already subbed several of those players at half time.

That sort of attitude has been sadly lacking at Ewood down the years. Poor performers get picked again not dropped.

I agree with one comment, why not try a few of the academy players as subs coming on for 15-20 minutes. Can they do any worse than what we've seen over the last 2 months. After all there the future of Blackburn Rovers.

The way Rovers have been playing, it's a perfect description, clueless in seattle at the moment.
