Both missed my point, of course it’s an interesting fact, as is the general one that we can’t beat newly promoted sides away - points to a weak mentality throughout the club.

My point was to not let it distract from the overall issue that regardless of who we did/didn’t beat earlier in the season, it is the decisions made by the regime that has caused this collapse, not that we didn’t beat this team or that, on the flip side we had ‘no right’ to beat Leeds, but we did, so three points there to negate Plymouth, we were 5th, because we had earnt it, and then look what happened…

Are those 'Venkys Indian problems' the same ones that according to you aren't anything to do with Rovers and to which Waggott and Suhail have both said aren't preventing the owners sending money over?

The court case isn't about Rovers is it which was point I was making(which you ignored) tho indirectly it has affected us if they don't send the money over which is why Wharton was sold to fund that gap

Absolutely infuriating when it's said out loud.

As I understand it, the owners were not able to send any money whatsoever at one point when the court case began (as confirmed by Suhail), and as a result couldn't send their usual wedge of cash over, which would be needed to pay the clubs (monthly? weekly?) outgoings such as, players wages/staff wages/utilities/transfer instalments etc etc. 

The club needed a cash injection to cover us for the season, and so we went begging to Prem clubs to take Wharton off us, at a cut price, presumably with a reasonable upfront payment to cover the shortfall the owners would have put in. 

I remember Steve Parish on talksport talking about the deal, saying something along the lines of "Blackburn needed the money" but i can't remember.

I've been forced to have a little look at this in comparison to previous years. The trend is basically for the pack contending for 5th/6th to slip up a bit over the last 4/5 games which is why you sometimes see a team come from nowhere. 

If Rovers actually won the next 4 tthen think we would end up very close to 6th as Coventry, West brom and boro all have to play each other and we play millwall and Watford. Coventry losing tonight would be a really good start and goal difference doubtlessly would come into play.

A lot of ifs, buts and maybes though and not really worth thinking about unless we win the next 2.

No the Rovers way these days is to be up there until it got serious in the new year, fall away, then have a small bounce and have the slightest of slight chances by the end - did it with Bowyer, TM, JDT, so why not again…

It's done and dusted. Shame really, but other than the odd game we have been very poor from mid-December onwards.

Too many players overworked, too many injuries, too many individual errors, culminating in too many below par performances and too many dropped points.

Easily our best chance for success as the league has been so poor this season. Our biggest problem being the lack of goals we have scored.

I can't see it, but i wouldn't mind both Millwall and Bristol City getting in the play offs at the expense of Boro, Coventry, West Brom etc.

The club don't want the play-offs remember. Waggott confirmed this in his interview in 2023, JDT learned this, so did Eustace.

The shakiest is possibly Hedges, but given the options, he’s probably the best we can do.

Not to push this too much as I know its not realistic BUT in 2013 after gameweek 42 6th place was on 63pts so the same parallel exists as it did for gameweek 41. 2013 of course was the last time 68pts earnt a playoff spot. Just keeps a little bit of interest!
