HOTSPOT Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 5-a-side football tournament to be held in Bray on the day of the game, probably starting about 12, not sure on who has confirmed yet but from what I heard, it's a couple of teams from our lot, NorthernIreland, North and South Lancs, London and anyone else who happens to show up. What's the latest on this Rich ? Think my flight times will mean I can't make it - but do you have final details ? they only want decent players tris.

HOTSPOT Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 the ground floor is upstairs and the first floor is downstairs. pretty much like every other place i end up at on a friday then?
Kandevil Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 Finally sorted out my hotel, got room at the NorthStar too, seeing as thats where many seem to be stopping.
Glenn Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 Now the really important things Which pubs are we going in Erm ..... All of them ? Seriously, when we played St.Pats, you could find Blue and White shirts in just about every pub in Temple Bar. And you could see a Blue, White and Brown shirt watching the game! Aint that right Glenn? Cheers for that Lee, everyone I met in Dublin last time only seems to remember me as "that bloke covered in Guiness". Anways, seeing as we're all arriving at different times and travelling down to Bray at different times, how about we all aim to meet in Temple Bar around 1pm ? In fact there is an easy to find bar in Temple Bar called The Temple Bar, that easy enough for everyone to remember ? If anyone has forgotton who to look out for (and this time I intend drinking my Guiness not wearing it, so spotting me may be harder ), I suggest checking out the pics at http://brfcs.fotopic.net where the mugs of many of those going can be found (even SteB if you look really hard ).
Glenn Posted July 28, 2003 Posted July 28, 2003 In fact, my pics from the last Dublin trip are here. Not that they bare any relevance to this trip (other than I believe that ground is a similar standard).
Dr Rich Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 5-a-side football tournament to be held in Bray on the day of the game, probably starting about 12, not sure on who has confirmed yet but from what I heard, it's a couple of teams from our lot, NorthernIreland, North and South Lancs, London and anyone else who happens to show up. What's the latest on this Rich ? Think my flight times will mean I can't make it - but do you have final details ? In Loughlinstown(which is beside Bray, sort of) Sports Centre from 1pm to 3pm on the Wednesday. We are going to transport anybody who's playing from Killiney Dart Station(not Shankill like I said before(roadworks)) to the location and either back to the station or on to Bray(depending on numbers) afterwards. Footie is on outdoor 7-a-side pitch(astroturf I presume), 2 of which we have booked. Cost is 30euro a team now. Again contact Martin at cookierovers@eircom.net if you're interested in taking part. Glenn, the ground isn't as good as Richmond.(IMHO)
wilyrover Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 I've just got my ticket. I've just got my digs. Now I've just got to figure out how I'm going to get there - See you all in Dublin and Bray.
1864roverite Posted July 29, 2003 Posted July 29, 2003 is anyone planning having a tet a tet with P Devlin to see if Duffer is going to return back home to the one true blue love of his life ? If not you could always ask him for a drink or two on the house from his agents fee

wilyrover Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 Got my ticket, digs and transport. I'm on Tuesday morning's Seacat from Liverpool. See you all around the Temple Bar later. And on Wednesday dinnertime.
martin887 Posted July 31, 2003 Posted July 31, 2003 Stopped in North star when we played St Pats. Good hotel. Its right what they say about the red light district its on your doorstep and in your hotel lobby and the stairs and the bar! Stopping at comfort inn this year in temple bar not as far to stagger home! Enjoy see you all there! If its as good as last time it will be awesome!
Jordan Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 I think he best thing to do is just to make our way down to Bray. There are only 3 pubs so i cannot see it being hard to meet up. I think that we should all meet at that Temple Bar pub i Temple Bar in the evening.
ginga_daughter Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 I hope people know just how EXPENSIVE the pubs are in Temple Bar ? Not bein a killjoy (I'm goin to Dublin) but you are better off on outskirts of Temple Bar if you want to see change out of £4 for ONE pint. Honest..
Glenn Posted August 1, 2003 Posted August 1, 2003 Last time I was there it was around 4 Euro for a bottled beer, slightly less for draught lager. Less than £4 but still dearer than the centre of Leeds or Manchester I'm intending meeting a bunch of folks around 1pm in Temple Bar and then heading off down to Bray for some serious drinking.
rover_groo Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 Best bet to be in Bray for around 3-4pm. I will be in Katy Dalys along with the ROI branch. Some serious drinking that night. Temple Bar that night, but best get rid of the footie gear if you want to see some of the local beauties in the Niteclubs. Can't wait for it and trust to see you all soon! Groo.
Dr Rich Posted August 2, 2003 Posted August 2, 2003 I'd echo that, Temple Bar, you will not get in anywhere if you wear anything footie related, or if you look remotely scruffy, especially if you're in a big group of lads, and if you're English.... Katie Gallaghers btw Groo, but you're not meant to publicise that too much, keep the good thing for the locals :'>, which is why it wasn't in that information pack Bray Wanderers sent to the supporters clubs.
DP Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 O.K so for those that will be going straight to Bray, which pub(s) in Bray will the Rovers fans be heading for, and where is it in relation to the station? Sorry if I am repeating a much asked question.
Ste B Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Its looking like Kirsty Gallachers or JD's beside the train station about 50 metres from the Carlisle Grounds. After match - Temple Bar in (strangely enough) Temple Bar seems good.
HOTSPOT Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 looking forward to getting in the ground after seeing the pics, i believe there is no designated area so if want a roof above you get there quick, there didnt seem to be many seats either
Glenn Posted August 4, 2003 Posted August 4, 2003 Personally, I'm looking forward to NOT having a seat. I'd have gone and joined the standing people at Blackpool, but I saw the grief SteB was getting for trying (and there was someone in his seat already).
Scotty Posted August 5, 2003 Posted August 5, 2003 Its looking like Kirsty Gallachers or JD's beside the train station about 50 metres from the Carlisle Grounds. After match - Temple Bar in (strangely enough) Temple Bar seems good. I was in the Temple Bar pub myself last night - I can thoroughly recommend it!! There are many others worth a visit as well.
rover_groo Posted August 6, 2003 Posted August 6, 2003 Temple Bar is one great area, but expensive as well. Should be a big crowd gathering as well, due to the Robbie Williams concert in a few days. Rite, i'm off to get a shower and catch the bus to Dublin, along with 30 of my mates (bottles of Bud) Heres to a great day and match and hope all you fans travelling from Mainland UK have a good one. Groo.
philipl Posted August 7, 2003 Posted August 7, 2003 From the absence of feed back, I take it you guys had a great night last night
