Manchester City 0 Blackburn 1.

A single goal by Paul Gallagher against Manchester City on Saturday, was sufficient to see Blackburn’s U19 through to the final of the U19 Championship.

The U19 now will play Aston Villa, who beat West Ham 2-0, over a two-legged final next month.

As reported on this site over the weekend, there was also success for the U17, who drew with Southampton, to put themselves in to the semi finals of the U17 Championship.

Defenders Season Over

Unless Blackburn can negotiate a transfer or a loan extension, Vratislav Gresko, has played his last game for Rovers. The on loan defender who resolved the clubs left back problems, has had his season cut short after being carried off at Leeds following a tackle by Danny Mills. Scans have revealed that the defender, who was recently recalled to the national team, has broken two bones in his foot.

Craig Short is also expected to miss the remainder of the season, after coming off at Leeds with a hamstring injury.
