Fans Wait on Roo's Transfer News

As reported on this site yesterday, transfer speculation in respect to Blackburn Rovers and Feyenoord’s Emerton is hotting up in the media.

Brett Emerton could fulfil his dream of joining the Premier League after Blackburn confirmed today that they are ready to complete a deal to bring the Aussie midfielder to Ewood Park. Some sources are even predicting that the deal could be completed within 24 hours.

Several Premiership clubs, including Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Tottenham and Newcastle  have been linked with Emerton. Now it’s up to Graeme Souness to convince the versatile player, who can operate in midfield or in defence, that his future lies at Ewood Park.

Chief executive John Williams is reported to have said: "I can confirm that further discussion have taken place and are ongoing. The player himself has undergone a medical and we are making progress."
