With just over a week to go before Blackburn Rovers entertain newly promoted Wolves at Ewood Park in the first game of the season, this Sunday Rovers finalise their preparation for the new season, with a friendly against Italian club Chievo at Ewood Park, kick off 4pm.

This will be the last opportunity manager Graeme Souness has to assess his squad in a competitive game before he selects his first eleven for the kick off of the 2003-2004 Premier League Season, so supporters can expect to see for the first time at Ewood, Souness’s crop of summer signings, although it would appear that midfielder Steven Reid will miss the game due to an injured ankle.

On the bright side Vratislav Gresko has recovered from his injury, and is available for his first run out in Rovers colours since finalising his permanent move to Blackburn.
