bellamy11 Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 I'd have given anything to be able to goto this game, but unfortunate "circumstances" have prevented it. Do us proud lads, don't stop singing all night.
Jim J Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 I've been singing all the way to Bradford this morning. Only 3 hours of work to go, then its off to sunny Scotland. The adrenelin is already pumping. Bring it on!

PABBY Posted October 31, 2002 Posted October 31, 2002 For anyone who can't be there, I intend to lose my voice shouting for you all. If you happen to spot a "Helmshore Blues" Union Jack flag, then you've probably spotted me having the time of my life. Have a good un! =
Dr Rich Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Well done lads, heard more from the Rovers fans then the "best fans in the world". Listening to pre-match on Radio5 and they kept commenting on how impressive the noise coming from the Blackburn fans was.
SharrockDownSouth Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Forever and ever, we follow a team Sooo proud to be able to hear that so clearly during the match on BBC ONE last night!! Top Job lads!
adopted scouser Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 'North West Tonight' showed a few rovers fans singing in a pub. Debs, beige jumper and black rimmed specs ?? :'> If so, who were you with ?!
Peikko Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 'Can you hear the Celtic sing, no! no!' Good one. You made us all proud!
boris bear Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 'Can you hear the Celtic sing, no! no!' Good one. You made us all proud! It was certainly a case of sing when you are winning last night.
Guest Kamy100 Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Well Done last night we out sung them all game. How about on the way back, there was a serious accident so coaches were stuck on the motorway, then all rovers fans get out camera falshes go off and even mingling with a couple of celtic fans. Then suddenly some rovers fan start to rock a celtic coach and a window is put in. Overall, just an amazing experience and believe me they are in for a shock when they come to Ewood!!
ABBEY Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 well i just got up "voiceless" and having not trolled through the pages yet on last night all i can say is the CELTIC"HYPE" about hairs standing up on the back of your neck,we can sing alls we want but blackburn wont be heard in a cauldron of noise is like DON KING bullshit. "cauldron"???if thats a cauldron then the witches must have been trick or treating,it hurts me to say this but ive honeslty heard more noise in bumleys dingledome and nobends weedale. "Hairs stand up on back of your neck" well im going bald but my scalp never in itched. WELL DONE ROVERS FANS ....AS FOR CELTIC ...YOU ONLY SING WHEN YOUR WINNING. You must have been right next to me then. I was on the Ewood Blues coach which was about 3/4 coaches back. Stuck for about 2 hours I think.
ABBEY Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 did you see the state of the wagon cab when we eventually got let through ,it was BIG MESS.

"Hairs stand up on back of your neck" well im going bald but my scalp never in itched. WELL DONE ROVERS FANS ....AS FOR CELTIC ...YOU ONLY SING WHEN YOUR WINNING. ITS ONLY HALF TIME COME ON YOU BLUES. Spot on. Watching it on telly last night, that ground was as quiet as John Leslie. Oh aye, loads of singing before the match started, sea of green, packed stadium, etc, etc yawn Soon after kick off they realised that they were being outplayed. outpassed, outfought. They only chanting to be heard "Can you hear the Celtic sing nooo, nooo" from a tiny blue and white section of prickhead. It's OK being a big club when you play in a pub league, but last night coming up against a Premier League club they were well and truly found out. If we play like that for the second leg with a little more luck in front of goal - I predict an easy victory, and a nice line of rovers fans up craven's brow waving their coaches back to the M65.
berkshireblue Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Got to say that was the most noise ever made by Rovers at an away game, even the old man sat next to me was singing continuously.... Highlight was a rendition of Souness, Souness followed by the Saville Row suited Man punching his fists in the air towards the rovers fans...Brilliant!!! Steve, Tris, DP, Andy C etc...missed you after the game walked into town with a group of burberry clad undesirables from Blackburn and 6 police horses...then slopped to bed to sleep of the illness... Can you hear the Celtic sing no..no.
SMc_Celtic Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Last night I was surprised at the lack of atmosphere amongst us (Celtic fans)....but I put it down to nerves. True, we were being outplayed on the pitch and it definitely had an effect. However, some of the comments on here have been pathetic. Let's see how you get on with your home game...see how loud you are compared to us when we bring 8,000 plus to Ewood. I'll look forward to coming on here and asking if you can hear the Rovers sing.......
stegraham Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 SMc_Celtic has a point. The rovers support at home can be a little quiet at times. Let's hope everyone is up for a good sing-along. Maybe everyone should be made to drink 6 pints of stella before they enter the ground, that way there'll be lots of noise. Get everyone going a bit. :-) Ste
boris bear Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Highlight was a rendition of Souness, Souness followed by the Saville Row suited Man punching his fists in the air towards the rovers fans...Brilliant!!! Agree, that was absolutely superb. That's the thing that stands out most in my memory.
SMc_Celtic Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 Cheers Stegraham.... I have to add, I think Souness was very clever as he 'hyped' up the Celtic fans before the game......think the players and some of your fans expected it to be like a cauldron of hate.....like Turkey or something. Celtic Park's atmosphere is very, very loud when everyone sings...but it is not a nasty atmosphere. For a player, it's most likely very pleasant and inspiring. Sorry we disappointed some of you Rovers fans that were expecting something else, but you should be pleased.....a better Celtic performance would have given you the atmosphere you were expecting!! Put it this way, several Valencia players & Juventus players said Celtic Park was the best atmosphere they had ever encountered...having played regulary all over Europe. Even Berg said the Rosenborg captain, Hoftun, told him he had played all over Europe with Rosenborg in the past ten years and it was the best stadium, atmosphere and fans he had ever experienced. Suppose the fans performance went in tandem with the teams....disappointing. The 'Walk On' at the beginning was good though....which TV viwers would have missed.
colin Posted November 1, 2002 Posted November 1, 2002 The 'Walk On' at the beginning was good though....which TV viwers would have missed. It would have been a lot more impressive if the song wasn't being blasted out over the PA system. Impressive stadium mind, if a bit short on space down below. But just wait until you see Ewood. The Riverside will take your breath away. It's this impressive
