1864roverite Posted November 7, 2002 Author Posted November 7, 2002 After the hassle and arguments would you believe that at 6pm today there was over 1000 tickets for the home leg for the big game. I know that there are few tickets left for the Blackburn end but that tickets are available for the Walkersteel and Jack Walker stand both Dawen end upper and lower. I am utterly shocked that these tickets are still available after all the whingeing (thats me included) shocked roverite

78 Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 It's a shame that Rovers can't sell out for this match, however I do suspect it's because of the result of the first leg. If we had won away I'm certain this match would have been sold out. I was so worried that it was going to be sold out on the first day it went on general release that I was stuck on the phone for 3-4 hours to get through. Big shame
Alan75 Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 They more than likely will be sold out by Monday then.
Jordan Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Some people never learn, 1864roverite, havent you already started a thread basically the same as this one entilitled tickets?
blue phil Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 You shouldn't be , Tony. A sizeable proportion of our fans are kids and women who may think that this game could be a little too rowdy ! Tut tut Blue Phil, sexist! If there is any bother I'll be hiding behind the wife and daughter. Any Celtic supporter who wants to take on that combination has my blessing and I'll send flowers to the hospital First time I've been called sexist on this forum , Colin - though I suppose it was inevitable ! Seriously though, I'm sure we have a larger female/children to male ratio than most clubs (which is a good thing) ; and I'm sure a lot of them on this occasion will prefer to watch the game on TV away from the sectarian/BNP/Dingle hordes who are going to ruin this fixture !! ( Well ,at least according to the rumours ) :'>
Paul Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Im, amazed and saddened that we still have tickets left for the CELTIC GAME TO ARGUE OVER. It will sell out by Thursday Tony. Celtic had tickets left on the day and there were empty seats at Parkhead. The bulk of tickets always sell quickly and then the rest just dribble away as people decide to go at the last minute

Glenn Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Well I'm going and taking my neighbour (lady in her sixties) who will be in the Riverside on her own. I knew ticket sales had been slower than expected, but not that slow !
boris bear Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Very good Glen but you know what I mean, she's not sitting with anyone she knows. There was someone sitting behind me last night (Blackburn end) with a very strong scottish accent pointing out where he was going to be in the Riverside. He didn't say which match he had a ticket for but I assume Thursday's. He and his mates didn't appear back after half time but I suppose you can't blame them for that.
RevidgeBlue Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Im, amazed and saddened that we still have tickets left for the CELTIC GAME TO ARGUE OVER. The only amazing thing in my eyes is that we can actually sell out a game on TV at Category A prices without putting tickets on open sale. (Not that that is feasible for this particular game.) Celtic of course had to do that a few days before the game to ensure a full house.
Don Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 The only amazing thing in my eyes is that we can actually sell out a game on TV at Category A prices without putting tickets on open sale. (Not that that is feasible for this particular game.) Sorry Rev, but what game are you referring to? Your post has confused me. Have we sold out or not?
Baz Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 The demand for tickets is there, people cannot buy them. Possibly rovers could now put them on sale to people who bought tickets for last seasons games or games that took place before the uefa cup draw took place this season. This would mean celtic fans are unlikely to get them. I know plenty of casual rovers fans who went to cardiff last year and go to the odd home game but haven't been this season yet - surely these people should be allowed a chance of a ticket rather than rovers not selling out?
Lee Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 There were two ticket sales segments: First week, tickets were on sale to Season Ticket Holders. After that, tickets went on sale to non season ticket holders who have a history of buying tickets from the club prior to the UEFA Cup draw. Ticket Information Page So Baz, all those friends of yours have had more than a week to be able to buy tickets for this game. thanks Lee
Paul Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Baz, this is not to have a go at you but people in general. I get sick to the back teeth of fans complaining they can't get tickets for this or any other game. Rovers have clearly stated that ANYONE with a history of buying tickets for the 2001/2002 and 2002/2003 season can apply for tickets. It is NOT difficult. All fans have to do is take a few minutes to check the published information in the LET, the club's web site - thanks for the link Lee - or listen to the message on the ticket hotline, 01254 671666. Tickets have been available to ALL Rovers fans with a history of buying tickets for last season and this since 31st October. Anyone who wants a ticket and doesn't get one should wake up and smell the coffee. What else are the club supposed to do? 30,000 tickets purchased for Cardiff, if you bought one through the club you will be on the database. I understand tickets are still available today.
RevidgeBlue Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Sorry for being misleading oz, we haven't sold out yet but I'm sure we will. What I meant was it is no mean achievement to sell out any fixture where tickets don't actually go on open sale. In line with Baz's comments above I'm not actually certain a lot of supporters are aware they can purchase tickets for big games by virtue of being on the database. IF YOU'RE ON YOU CAN APPLY! AND IF YOU'RE NOT ON AND WANT TO GO TO SEE US BEAT LIVERPOOL/MANURE IN FUTURE GET YOURSELF ON BY GOING DOWN TO SEE FULHAM/SOUTHAMPTON /CHARLTON AT HOME!
Jordan Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Just read this on the officaial site. If anyone was even thinking about selling a ticket on it may be worth a read. http://www.rovers.co.uk/today....00.html Glad to see that the club are doing something.
RangerRover Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 I've just read that warning, Jordan. I take it that only applies to Blackburn fans buying tickets for Celtic supporters and not for outsiders who'll be sitting with the home fans and cheering on Rovers ?
Dr Rich Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Well I wouldn't go telling the stewards your not a Rovers fan, but there will be no problem with that, we need to encourage all the support we can, bring all the good natured Rangers fans we can fit into Ewood down if you want.
Gav Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 With only 3 working days to go I find it rather disheartening to find out we've not sold out in home areas, AGAIN. Why on earth should we have the regular debate on giving away sides the whole Darwen end when year upon year we can't sell out in home areas when we do so? What the hell do the Blackburn public need to get the interest going? Again it's debateable whether or not the Blackburn public deserve a Premiership football club fighting on all fronts
Alan75 Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Wasnt so long ago that people on here were complaining about the club giving Celtic the whole of the Darwen End. This appathy by the people of Blackburn only goes to show, that the board members seem once again to know more that those who go around wearing blue tinted glasses.
Don Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Its only Friday there isn't it? Still plenty of time for people to get their tickets I guess.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 People on this board know my feelings about Rovers level of support this season.I feel sorry for the club, they are doing everthing possible on and off the field to encourage people to attend Ewood and watch a good, entertaining team. The citizens of Blackburn are letting the club down badly I feel. The fact that we have still not sold out in home areas for what IS in effect one of the clubs biggest games in its and long and proud history only strengthens my disappointment
78 Posted November 8, 2002 Posted November 8, 2002 Well its just that this club is "too big" for Blackburn. Aren't we the smallest town in the Premier League and it's good to see the club trying to address this by trying to encourage people outside the area to come watch, however it's not an easy thing when it's hard to get fans who'll ditch their club to come watch us unless the tickets are cheaper or even on par to the ones at their clubs. It'll probably take a few seasons before it can be evaluated to see it worked. However I'm very sad to see us not seel out a tie like this although like I said before, it's definitely got to do with the result from the first leg.
