tucker Posted November 13, 2002 Posted November 13, 2002 Don't know about the pubs but I do know The Precinct is being closed at 5.00pm - not much new there . I think the area is being closed off. And I was planning my Christmas shopping for Thursday night. Fiddlesticks.
Alan75 Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Christmas Shopping ! It feels like Christmas morning, when I was a kid. Woke up early, cant wait. See you all at Ewood, for the party tonight.
Ste B Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Back to the subject in hand. - BEER. Looks like we'll head into town sometime early afternoon and find a boozer thats not too full of celtic fans if possible. Malt&Hops, Sir Charles, or Boro Arms look likely to start off.
78 Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Christmas Shopping ! It feels like Christmas morning, when I was a kid. Woke up early, cant wait. See you all at Ewood, for the party tonight. So true. It's going to be just like our cupfinal in feb, can't wait. Come on Rovers

Flopsy Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Would you like some vinegar to go with those chips on your shoulder. I might be in the minority, but i have never had any problems with the police even when ive been steaming at football matches - however a lot of trouble at football matches can be linked to alcohol - although the nobs that start it dont need encouragement just other people get sucked in. My thoughts exactly my little flopsicle. Plod, busy's or whatever, acceptable I suppose. But 'filth' ? That one is usually from someone who has been arrested previously, for being in posession of an offensive attitude. You've met the kind haven't you ? Always the little git who has to shout louder than everyone else to get noticed. how about "Law enforcement Officials"? I presume pigs are out then, which is a shame because you could then do bad jokes about pigs can fly when the helicoptors fly over :'> And GH what the #### are you on about "judging by your past posts you will no doubt have dealings when you are allowed to go in pubs.Shouting loudest,we've all met them haven't we go and live somewhere else because no-one was taking any notice of their mouth." Excuse me for being confused - but that makes no sense from any of my last posts but hey thats not stopped you getting your issues into the open. To those driving via motorway today - be carefull - before you travel try The interactive map on this site and remember if you have a crash your going to have a bunch of squadies wiht their pen knives trying to cut you out
RevidgeBlue Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Anyone fancy a beer in the Woodlands/West View area lunchtime onwards before they head into town?
RevidgeBlue Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Woodlands on Preston New Rd. nr. Billinge School. West View is at bottom of Revidge Rd. Dog Inn bit further up.
CAPT KAYOS Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 SteB Woodlands Preston new road -think its changed its name now Where the Rovers players used to hang out - Ally Dawson ring any bells?
Flopsy Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Woodlands on Preston New Rd. nr. Billinge School. West View is at bottom of Revidge Rd. Dog Inn bit further up. is that near QEGS? (ish) by whitton park?
Paul Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Let's hope the rumours are wrong and the Scot fans are welcomed as guests by all. By pure chance I was shopping in The Precinct yesterday for the first time since I don't know when. The Precinct manager was visiting every shop with an instruction leaflet on what was to happen today, re closures etc. The five staff in the shop I visited were in a tizzy about the whole thing. One lady was worried about having to walk home towards Ewood Park with all these terrible football fans. I must have spent 10 minutes explaining the great time we all had in Glasgow, how friendly the Celtic fans had been etc. So if you're wearing green and white and want a new pair of Clarke's shoes you'll get a great welcome in Blackburn Precinct. To be serious thougb - did no one from Lancashire police have the foresight to travel to Glasgow and observe how well behaved the two sets of fans were? Or perhaps look at a site like this and realise the cameraderie/banter which has been struck between our clubs?
Wide-Bhoy Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Thats a good point Paul about the police. It gets me angry when people just believe what they are fed. Those idoits are making these people feel threatend, when they should be reasuring them. We'll be down soon, for a few beers a good laugh & hopefully a classic game.
CAPT KAYOS Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Not just that Wide-Bhoy it puts people on edge which could make them act differently to anybody from what they normally would eg suspicion rather than welcome which in turn can resort to resentment. Hope you have a good day like our goodselves did in Glasgow -except for the result of course
Pete1888 Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Any of you local guys been in town yet? Celtic fans a plenty? So p*ssed off I couldnt get a ticket. Still as long as we give a good account of ourselves tonight.......and win then i'lll be happy. Enjoy the game guys and gals!!!!

Ste B Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 GH - let it lie, or you'll get another warning.
Dr Rich Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Ignore him lads, envious of our privelege in playing in Europe while they go to Brighton, Grimsby. So excited now, also having great difficulty pressing the right keys in my @#/? state, and I have to do an exam in an hour.
14May1995 Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 It's going to be a long journey up the M40/M6 - about to set off as soon as Tris arrives. PMT (pre match tension) has set in big time! Just had a message from BerkshireBlue - game on live in Borneo (3.40a.m. their time) so he's started drinking already! See you all soon - C'mon Rovers!!!
Ste B Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Right, pub calls later.. If you see somebody in town with a NASA cap on, its me.
Dr Rich Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 If I ever see someone with a NASA cap on, they are getting abuse. (just joking mate, don't want a yellow card, been like an Andy D'Urso game around here lately)
Jim J Posted November 14, 2002 Posted November 14, 2002 Heard that the town center is already a mass of green and white. Enjoy the day while it last bhoys....... My mate has just been in town, looks like the windows of the Dunn Horse have already gone through!
