Jordan Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 I really do want Rovers to go through but i really cannot see it. Prediction Rovers to win the game 2-1 but Celtic to go through on away goals - I really hope i am wrong.
Dr Rich Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 I'm more confident after watching Celtic yesterday, they were very ordinary against a poor Dundee Utd side, and Petrov has rejected another contract offer(and probably got dropped for it). I'm sure they will bring him back for a big game but lets hope moral has been damaged.
Finch Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Here's hoping that Souness can instill more confidence in his team than we have on here Rovers to go out on away goals
broadsword Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 What happens if it's a draw after extra-time? Do Graeme and O'Neill have a punch-up in the centre-circle and the one who remains standing takes his team through to the next round? It's too close to call, it really is. Rovers to win 3-0 in normal time - Cole hat-trick - one on his left foot, one on his right-foot, one to ricochet off his nose.
jim mk2 Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 I can't help the feeling we missed out at Celtic Park after playing so well. O'Neill will have learnt his lessons from that game and adjust his tactics accordingly. Celtic to go 2-0 up midway through second half with our powder-puff attack scoring a late consolation goal near the end.
tchocky Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 I don't think those two draw options are needed in the poll. You've already got that covered with the out on away goals / penalties options.
adopted scouser Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 I can't help the feeling we missed out at Celtic Park after playing so well. O'Neill will have learnt his lessons from that game and adjust his tactics accordingly. Celtic to go 2-0 up midway through second half with our powder-puff attack scoring a late consolation goal near the end. As much as I hope for a win to knock them out, I really believe that O'Neill will have learned a sharp lesson from the 'first half', and will be better prepared for Ewood. Hartson etc have a lot to prove to their club and will be desperate to impress, and we have no forwards whatsoever. Agreement there then.
colin Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Does the away goals rule kick in after 90 minutes or after extra time?
tchocky Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 90 minutes. Extra time is only played if both teams have the same amount of away goals.
tucker Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 2-1 to Rovers Rovers to go 2-0 up with Cole scoring first, but a second half strike from Larsson puts the hoops through.
Jim Royle Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Duffer to turn on the magic setting up Andy Cole for a brace and then just to seal it a late pile driver from "Tugay You are my Turkish Delight nananananana" 3-0 thankyou very much, trip to Italy in two weeks time to hammer Parma in't next round!
nellybc Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 gotta go for a win, not sure if its 2-0 or 3-1, i cant decide!
bob Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Rovers 2 - 0 Celtic Cole Duff Early Cole goal then made to wait until 88th min for Duff to pop up and score Fingers crossed
sumps Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 2-1 to rovers. i think we blew it by not winning in celtic or at least not getting a goal.
Baz Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 2-0 t'blue n'whites wit coal n'york scorrin! c'mon u bloos!
den Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Just seen the results, and what a miserable bunch you are. Have faith.
Anti Euro Smiths Fan Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 Well, I'd probably be pessmistic and go for Celtic to win on away goals - If it wasn't for a curious dream I had a few nights ago, when I dreamt that we won the tie 2-0 at Ewood, winning 2-1 on aggregate. The 2 Rovers goals we scored, I pictured vividly as I slept. I could 'see' not only the goals being scored, but also the reaction of the crowd as well. It was a pleasant dream - Nearly as nice as the one I had a while back - When I dreamt about cuddling up to Rosie!
waggy Posted November 11, 2002 Posted November 11, 2002 rovers 7 v1 celtic cole 12,34,78 sutton 56 duff 38,67. dunn pen 24 tommo 87. attendance 30,124 arrests 67. weather raining.
Paul Posted November 12, 2002 Posted November 12, 2002 Rovers to win by TWO clear goals be it 2-0 or 3-1. I believe it is crucial we score first, should Celtic score leaving us to hit 3 in reply I'm not sure we are currently enjoying the luck we need to achieve that.
ally Posted November 12, 2002 Posted November 12, 2002 1-0 to blackburn (duffman back on form) then no aet goals and blackburn win it 5-3 on penalties
