Two goals by Elliot and a penalty by Macken at Hyde last night gave the blue side of Manchester a 3-0 win against a young inexperienced Blackburn Reserves. City took the lead within 10 min of the start with a goal from Elliot and went 2-0 up early in the second half after Yelldell had brought down Macken in the box. The former Preston player making no mistake with the spot kick. City secured the game on 62 min with Elliots second. Blackburn had one chance in the first half with Jerome Watt firing wide. With game won, City keeper Kevin Ellegaard made two good saves late in the game from Peter Corvino and Jemail Johnson.
