Ah, come on Matt, even a hardened Scum-hater like yourself much realise that Houllier is worse, god I hate him at least RFW has a decent record to back up his preposterous drivel, Houllier always has that sly furtive look on his face too, not to mention the fact that he's f***ing French  :<img src=:'>

Yeah, but it's great to see him dragging Liverpool down further and further. I hope they never get rid of him.

Funny that when moaning about Steve Bruce earlier this week, he said that when managers criticise players (admittedly he was referring to opposition managers), they are only covering up the underlying problem.  So I guess that when he criticises his own players...

I suppose your right. We are ALL very aware of United's 'towering' achievements over the last 100, sorry...10 years. Houlllier, has very little to be smug about if recent league achievements are the marker of success.

But hey folks, Neil Warnock may be in our division soon...

its not unuaual to see a frenchman blaming others its been a repetitive story throughout history.

i mean they blamed russia for the germans invading france

they blamed the italians for their own cowardice displays in ww1 and ww2

they blamed the English and USA for Iraq's invasion of kuwait

they blamed the english farmers when their own blockaded the ports of france

they blamed the world when iraq was invaded earlier on this year but remained solidly on the side of the coalistion when it transpired they may lose millions in unpaid deals on arms transactions

they blamed everyone but themselves for the incompetent way the tried to deal with asylum seekers using the channel tunnel/port of calais as a go between

they blamed the british government when they provided argentina with superentarrd fighter planes and exocets just prior to us kicking their arses and even more so when the above mentioned sales revealed it was the french rockets that were responsible for sinking 4 of our warships

you see the typical frenchman is incapable of entertaining the fthe fact that they have to face up to any responsibility or face criticisms for THEIR actions.

With leaders like de gaulle and chirac they have suitable acts to follow however france is littered with such arseholes who have all bore the same traits as their predecessors   :sarc:

What do you mean ?. Djimi Traore and Salif Diao are world class !  :p  .

Although Ian St. John has said some tw_ttish things about Blackburn recently, the article does suggest that he did OK with his managerial career given the circumstances. Houllier has blown loads of cash on rubbish, and has in effect made the squad less impressive than Roy Evans' squad.

When  you consider the support/ground, talent that the Anfield academy produces, the players they have at their disposal and the amounts of cash he gets to spend each season, it's little wonder that most of us outside Liverpool (and some inside) can agree he's not doing a very good job.  For the outlay he gets to spend in the market, the return is very little.  OK, they won a few cups one season, but their league/CL performances are not good enough.

It seems that when people point this out, he gets a little upset.  He's turned what was famously an entertaining, attacking Liverpool spirit/team into a counter-attacking, defensive team.  To do such a consistently poor job must invite criticism - to whinge about other people pointing this out all the time is petty and deflects from the fact he can't handle the pressure / compete at this level.

A team of Liverpool's quality should be challenging for the title, let alone battling for a CL place.  Houllier doesn't seem to know what his best team is or what formation it should be.  He also seems to have a knack of spending large amounts of cash on players who have very little impact on the team (Smicer, Diao, Diouf and Biscan for example).

Once he gets the boot (and it must be coming in the next year or so) and a decent manager gets the job, Liverpool could be an amazing team given the support & resources available.  Until then, let's enjoy Houllier taking them backwards and making them, at best, a half decent top six team (and then watch Owen and Gerrard leave !)

Not that he winds me up...........

As a polish Rovers fan I can only add that I hate the french b*****d for sitting Dudek on bench and doing him the same bad voodoo he did to Westerweld/Friedel/James. Pinokio wants some pressure off him, letting young Kirkland prepare for Euro... Still Dudek is sheer class and now only option seems to be a summer transfer... he shouldn't have gone to Liverpool first!

It's funny how those 3 keepers went on to enjoy some success with other clubs despite not being rated at Anfield - wonder if Dudek would do the same if he left ?

Can't believe the hype about getting Kirkland into the Euro'04 squad - at best he'd be 3rd place behind James and Robinson (but at least keeping Walker out of the frame).  He looked quite nervy against Leeds and bottled out of the challenge against Viduka for Leeds' 2nd goal.

It certainly has put Roy Evan's reign at Anfield into context.

At least under him they were contenders.  In Kenny Dalglish's autobiography he gets a very big wrap for his role in the bootroom during the 80's.

I always wondered what happened to Mr Evans, and would he ever be tempted to manage the Rovers at some point in time...

I really do hope Houllier manages to keep his job at Liverpool because they're going backwards quickly and that’s fine by me. Both the club, manager, supporters and press believe they have some sort of divine right to dominate English football like they've done in the past.

Well I’m sorry Liverpool but those days are long gone. If it wasn't for Steven Gerrard they'd be mid table at best.

I think I mentioned Houllier taking over from Fergie in the whinging stakes? Well Fergie came back with a bang when Keane was sent of in Porto, he said:

"Roys not that type of player"  :O

Ask Alfie haalend that Fergie!

Sadly for you Gav, there's increasing speculation that he could be on his way this summer.

The Liverpool board have failed to publicly back Monsieur Houllier this week, amid reports that some directors are looking for a change after six years of excuses from the Frenchman.

When taking over at Anfield, Houllier said that he had a "five year plan" to win back the Premiership, but this season has finished 30 points behind Arsenal.

If they had missed out on Champions League qualification this season, I've no doubt that Houllier would definitely have been sacked.

But the fact that they managed to squeeze into 4th place might possibly persuade Chairman David Moores to give him one last chance and let him carry on for another year.

Many of the papers though (tabloids as well as broadsheets) believe that Houllier's future on Merseyside is looking increasingly bleak.

In the Daily Telegraph today, the paper claims that Alan Curbishley has a number of supporters on the Anfield board. (Link to that story below)

http://www.sport.telegraph.co.uk/sport/mai...ixsporttop.html

I don't think Houllier will be too pleased with the 'come and get me' plea from Dalglish - "If the club think I can help they just need to ask," says Kenny, who would clearly love the chance of returning to his old club.

This season has been a massive failure for Liverpool, the board said that the minimum that would be expected would be to finish in the final place for Champions League, fourth place. They have done that, but only because teams such as Newcastle and Liverpool have badly under performed this season.

Liverpool finished fifteen points behind United in third place.

Their play looks predictable, one player particularly has stood out for Liverpool and that’s been Gerrard if it wasn’t for him to drive himself into the ground then Houllier would have gone by now.

He’s bought players that he’s over-rated and are over-priced heavily. What was it, £10M for Diouf?

The board have had a life long fan willing to pump money into the club in Morgan and actually gives a damn about the club, or there’s a Thai who last year wore a United shirt on, but Liverpool obviously will make the right choice won’t they?

Shame the man putting money into the club isn’t French. laugh.gif

Liverpool snub Morgan again

Not only 10mill on that useless waster he was only prepared to bid around half (our) Duff's contract release value! I'd like to see him try to prize him Duff away from Chelsea for that much now.

Complete tosser! He couldn't spot a footballer to save his life. He doesn't even look like a football manager ffs! I really hope the reds keep him but there is probably more chance of Nelson getting his eye back

On the contrary, Gerard Houllier is a decent articulate man who has behaved with absolute dignity while the illiterate bigoted hordes on Merseyside have been demanding his "Froggy" head.

He is also lucky to be alive having suffered a life-threatening heart scare under the stress of trying to bring back the success that the Liverpool scum so desperately crave.

Can you also enlighten everyone on what a football manager is supposed to look like? Graeme Souness, for example, his face contorted with anger as he argues with match officials?

the heart scare is totally irrelevent to his ability to manage a football club. I take it that you would like him in charge at Ewood then Jim?

Nah, not much, just that he cares so much about it that it affected his health.

I'd love to know why the way he looks is relevant to his ability to manage a football club though. Perhpas you could produce an identikit picture of how a football manager should look?

And yes, I wouldn't mind him at Ewood. He's a fine respected coach.

Tell me you're kidding?

If you thought Grabbi was bad, then that's nothing on the shower of crud that Hoolahoop has bought.

He can stay at Liverpool as far as I'm concerned!
