Alan75 Posted February 1, 2004 Posted February 1, 2004 Former Scotland manager and Blackburn player Ally MacLeod has died at the age of 72. MacLeod who led Scotland to the 1978 World Cup passed away peacefully at home in Ayrshire, he had been suffering from Alzheimer's disease for a number of years. MacLeod signed for Rover's from St Mirren in 1955 scored 53 goals in his 218 appearanced for Rovers and was a member of the team that reached the FA Cup Final in 1960. He returned to Scotland in 1961 to join Hibernian.
