[Archived] Rivaldo For Notlob

Recommended Posts

They tried to sign JayJay as well, but he went to Notlob. Celtic won't be able to pay more than Bolton, so it's pretty unlikely Rivaldo will go, be better off trying for a deal in the Middle East with all the other washed-up has-beens if he's after money.

Interesting that Celtic could be in the race to sign him.

The advanages of Rivaldo going there is that he`ll be playing in the Champions League but the other advantages are that most weeks he`ll be playing in front of 8,000.

Where as if he went Bolton then he`ll be in front of almost packed stadiums every week.

SAM LOSING HOPE IN RIVALDO RACE

Come on, It`ll never happen!

It seems that Rivaldo IS going to Bolton after all. (sky sports news)

Bolton chairman recieved a fax sometime yesterday saying that the brazillian had agreed terms and does not want to play in scotland.

Prso was a reserve for Monaco for quite a few seasons prior to this one. He's only played more games this season because their top striker, Nonda has been out but he's starting to regain fitness and has played abit the past few weeks.

Prso is not a prolific striker, the most goals he's scored in one season is 13 - and that was in the french div 2. He's scored 26 goals in 100 matches in the top division for Monaco.

I can see why Sam wanted him, because he has shown that he can play the lone striker role very well and the rumour mongers placed him with AC Milan for the exact same reason however I believe Rangers signed him based on his reputation which has for some reason soared after that fantasy score against Deportivo last year.

But then scoring can't be that hard in Scotland, can it?

Interesting management style from Sam Allardyce.

Since they started on their run of five consquetive victories, Big Sam has been giving the players four days off whilst he jets round Europe coming back to supervise training on Thursday and Friday.

If Newcastle continue their current wretched run, Notlob could well end up 6th come next Saturday tea time.

Sam has a £5m transfer budget this summer by the way.

At least Sam will not die wondering whether they'll come to Notlob or not.

He has the sllab to ask!

Very good point.

When we signed Dahlin (even though he was rubbish when he came) I said that he would never come to us and look what happened - he did.

Lets see if Zidane fancies running the midfeild with Bazza next year tongue.gif

Well you can't keep a good man down.

Big Sam may have lost out in signing Rivaldo but he's making up for it by going for another superstar in...er....Les Ferdinand. 37 years young.

Ferdinand in Bolton talks

He'll be a good signing.

He won't start every single match but it'll give Big Sam another strong target player who's good with his head to bring on when they revert back to their lets kick the ball to the striker asap system.

Also heard that Hierro is on trial with their squad in Bormio.

Please dont tell me you were one of the people saying we should'nt have signed Dickov.

Have Bolton no ambition? Why can't they buy an "exciting" player rather than this fella who'll come in and do a good job for a season? What's wrong with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink? Next Sam will be talking about "budgets" and "wage structures".

Les Ferdinand ohmy.gif - Allardyce really is starting to believe his own hype.

They might as well disband their youth set-up, apart from Nolan and Hunt, do they have any home grown talent?

Ferdinand is incredible, to still be a decent striker at that age beggers belief. Hats off to the man!

On the other hand I would rather stick a fork in my eye than see him at rovers.

If this goes through it's another fantastic, imaginative signing for Bolton.  Whether he turns out to be any good or not, the signing will pay for itself through increased season ticket sales, merchandise sales, and the amount of media interest and publicity it will generate.

Expect to see a lot of Bolton on Sky next season - don't expect to see much of us.

Hasn't done them any good this season though, Rovers have been on Sky & PPV many more times than Bolton.

Because Sky based their initial schedules on last season's form.

So how come in the initial fixtures this season we're on 7 times to Bolton's 5 ???
