Souness is quoted in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph, as saying "We've had some Johnny Foreigners come along and not give us what they should have done in the past. "In an ideal scenario, you want a team full of Jon Steads - young, hungry and British." Link to This is Lancashire continued Edited May 11, 2004 by Alan75

Alan75 Posted May 11, 2004 Author Posted May 11, 2004 Souness is hoping to be given the funds to get a centre-forward, two midfield players and a central defender during the close season. Whilst the clear out has commenced with the news that Andy Todd has been placed on the transfer list and reports that Martin Andressen’s loan period will not be extended to a permanent deal, negotiations are under way to retain the services of Douglas, Short and Tugay. Reports circulating on the Fans’ grapevine would also suggest that Dwight Yorke is also about to leave the club.
