SuperStella Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 If SSV Reutlingen are in it I presume we would play them on the 20th July... as it is in Reutlingen ?
SuperStella Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 I do fancy going for at least the 1st game on the 17th. Maybe fly out the Friday (16th) and come back Sunday (18th) ? Just had a look on web and found a flight for £62.98. This goes Friday, returns Sunday Or, I found one (on same site), going Friday, back Monday for £55.98 May even go for all the games... p.s. that ground looks seriously familiar to Bray Wanderers ground in Eire.
Manchester Blue Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 We're just going for second game or two I think on the same day. It looks like Reutlingen is about 30 minutes on the train from Stuttgart which would make it a good base. We got flights going Monday coming back Wednesday for £40 each. Cheers for the info by the way Lee.
Ste B Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 Ulm is 60 miles from Stuttgart. (although there are 3 other ulms around there too) Reutlingen is 11 miles, so its only a taxi ride Bowfinger appears to be a Steve Martin film Bopfingen is 102km away Bopfingen hotel at - http://www.dietz.de/ I think our current plans are Looks like 16 - 18th - Bopfingen 18 - 21st - Stuttgart 21 - 24th - Ulm 24th July - Stuttgart 25th - Fly home

Jordan Posted June 4, 2004 Posted June 4, 2004 All sounds great to me. Mods can you create a section for us who are going out there so that we can arrange things, ie where to get lashed and so forth and hotels.
Jordan Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 (edited) Die Bahn (German Rail Service) Will cost about 43EUR for a return ticket between Stuttgart and Bopfingen. 28EUR Return to Ulm. Run to and from Stuttgart to Ulm hourly. Edited June 5, 2004 by Jordan
yorkblues Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 i lived 30 mins from stuttgart 5 years ago so when the dates come out i can give you all some info

Glenn Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 Sorry J, missed that post. What's wrong with this thread. We had a private thread for Turkey as we didn't want those not going trying to hijacking it and turning it into a political/hoolie debate, but I can't see that for a pre-season in Germany.
greggyk Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Two germans and one premiership club to face rovers in Germany
No Nay Never Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Two germans and one premiership club to face rovers in Germany Would be fantastic if the above is true and would surely see a good following.
Jordan Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Everything sounds correct apart from the prelimary qualifying aking place on the 21st near Nuremberg.
Manchester Blue Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 I may be wrong but my understanding of it is that both us and brum will be in separate qualifying tournaments. Dependant upon how you do will decide at what stage you come into the tournament on Friday. I did wonder how they could guarantee we had a game on the Friday which was why i didn't book to come out then. Looks like you'll have Blues fans for company but at least it should be decent opposition for the finals.
Lee Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 Two germans and one premiership club to face rovers in Germany I talked to my counterpart at Birmingham City about this last week. I don't think the two competitions are connected, but it could be that Birmingham are one of the teams that play in the tournament in Ulm, whilst Rovers are in Reutlingen. The winners of each then play in the game at Ulm on Fri 23rd. I've still no news on teams
Jordan Posted June 7, 2004 Posted June 7, 2004 20th July - Stadion an der Kreuzeiche, Reutlingen, Germany Here's some pics of the above stadium - here Just been looking through this site and some really interesting stadiums on here. If you have time worth going throught the countrys and you can find stadiums which make the Dingledome look like the Ritz.
