used to be the final countdown, then they changed it to that bloody opera rubbish, sort of brought back final countdown, now don't bother at all that i could see, but i agree with Dr rich noone at ewood can seem to manage anything beyond 2 or 3 lines,

shame really cos i like a good sing along, It's embarrassing when all we can ever keep going is "souness' blue and white army". or that really inventive one

bang bang bang "ooooooo" bang bang bang"ooooo"

the drum doesn't help but at least i lets the other fans no someone is still there.

What would be nice would be a club anthem that we could play just before kick off that opposition fans would associate with us. A pipe dream, I know.

do you not have a copy of the great official rovers song? with sutton over here and gally over there... blah blah...

obviously its out of date but could simply change the players names...

One of the lines was "Ripley's crosses just hit the air". I don't see how we could realistically adapt that. "Emerton's crosses just hit the first defender on the arse" doesn't really fit in.

Think your are referring to the 'Go left right left' tune there Nuclear

When fans come to Ewood they're always singing but we have loadsa chants but no songs. Can anyone think of some lyrics to fit a well known song that we could sing?

How about to the tune of "Wild Rover"

I've followed the Rover's for many a year

And the Jack Walker era holds memories so dear

Though those great days under big Jack are gone

He may be no more but his memory lives on

And there's one Jack Walker etc.

Just a slight variation on your usual chant.

i cant stand that version of wild rover, i think the fans should just get the song going on our own without playing that over the top, get it like liverpool do with you'll never walk alone! i dont think a song like wild rover should get re-made like it has, sounds stupid before a game!!

Alright ladies and gents be gentle with me. This is the first draft of something I have been working on to the tune Wild Rover please give me some constructive comments on how we can make this better as a group thanks. :rover:

I’ve supported the Rovers

Through all these hard years

As we’ve wasted our money to cover our fears

And watched us go down with eyes full of tears.

(Chorus)

And it’s no nae never

No nay never no more

Will we be the lowly Rovers

No nae never no more

But now our leader is the great man Mark Hughes

We no longer have to sob in our Liqour and Booze

We don’t waste a penny, to cast offs we say nay

Players like that we can now turn away,

Chorus

We lost our dear Walker but our future looks bright,

And soon our players will once again take up the fight,

For the rights and the honour to say we’re the best,

Until our glory’s regained we will never have rest,

Chorus

Our club will not fail us, were on a great run,

We all know our future is as bright as the sun,

No longer will we lament about our bad run of luck,

For Jack and our support we will lift up that cup.

Chorus

Am I right in thinking there are more verses in the Rovers version of 'Wild Rover'?

Seem to remember hearing them in an away game a few years ago.

There's an ale house in Burnley,

I used to frequent,

I met Stanley Ternent,

His money was spent.

He asked me to play,

I answered him neh,

`Coz we hate the Burnley b*******s,

`Til my dying day.

And it's no neh never,

No neh never no more,

`Till we play the Burnley b*******s,

No never no more.

I showed him a trophy so shiny and bright,

And Stevey's eyes opened so wide with delight.

I told him, "We won cups and shields of the best;

I'll take you down Ewood and show you the rest."

And it's no neh never,

No neh never no more,

`Till we play the Burnley b*******s,

No never no more.

He went back to Burnley, confessed what he’d done,

And asked them to pardon their prodigal son.

But Burnley's 5000 are packed in Turf Moor;

They'll still say there were 10000 more

And it's no neh never,

No neh never no more,

`Till we play the Burnley b*******s,

No never no more.

I've followed the Rovers for many a year,

And I've spent all my money on tickets and beer.

Still Burnley's 5000 are slumped in the Turf;

They'll tell you that they're the best fans on the earth.

And it's no neh never,

No neh never no more,

`Till we play the Burnley b*******s,

No never no more.
