[Archived] Rovers 1 - 1 West Brom

I'm confident about this one, especially since Koumas is suspended. Let's just hope the Baggies aren't able to finalise a deal for Carrick before the deadline for Saturday's kick-off. I'll go for :

Rovers 3 - 0 WBA

Dickov 2mins

Ferguson 8mins

Stead 83mins

(with Roar getting the upper hand in the pre-match penalty competition).

I think we'll get 2 early goals, but spend the rest of the match fending off pressure from WBA before getting a third near the end to claim the 3 points.

As I have mentioned on the Season prediction thread, I certainly think this will be a tough game with the Baggies hard to break down, with us just sneeking it by the 1 goal 1-0/2-1. Can't see them scoring so will go for 1-0 just hope we can build on it and even though we may be harder to beat also start to play so co-ordinated footbal rather than haphazard keystone kop scenario of last seaason.

Rovers 1 - 0 WBA - Yorke 72mins

According to some WBA fans, Kanu isnt match fit so he'll start on the bench. So expect to see Dobie and Horsefield up front for them. ph34r.gif

Excellent...

I wouldn't be too happy. Horsefield is still a troublesome striker.

Good call but no way will we score three tomorrow nor will Spuds beat Liverpool- that is a banker away win.

Also Watford are too poor to beat the dingles.

Did you not see Watford beat QPR the other night, I thought they looked quite good.

So I tip Watford to beat Bumley in the fiz pop league

Sky Sports News currently have a reporter at the Rovers training session and there has been some shots shown of them training. Other than Tugay waving to the camera and an interview with Souness the main news they have grabbed hold of is that Dwight Yorke will be playing tomorrow. They'll be interviewing some players when the training session is over.

Season Preview:

Firstly, this would be my team for tomorrow - Friedel, emerton (r/back) Amoruso, Matteo,Gray,Neil (til Thompson's fit), Ferguson, Tugay, De Pedro, Stead, Gallagher. Swap Neill & emerton around cus they're useless in their proper positions

Season preview

Brad Friedel is a must at no. 1, it`s debatable whether he will be fit for the whole season, but I think Enckelman isn`t that bad as an understudy.

Right back is a problem. We will probably have to stick with Neill if doesn`t get banged up for GBH before august is out. I would try Emerton there but I dont think souey will, he will try & drum it into him that his teammates play in blue & white. The blue shorts will really ###### him up.

Central defence ? Another problem area. If Amoruso carries on where he left off he should be OK, but he frightens me to death when somebody with pace runs at him. You would think, being an Italian, he could go like the clappers backwards. Craig Short should be good for 12-15 games. Matteo is our best signing of the summer, but leave him at centre half. Johannson has the odd good game but I think he`s had his chance now. I would have liked to have seen McEvely played at centre half in a couple of the friendlies, I hope he doesn`t disappear into obscurity now.Souey should make friends with Todd.

Should be OK at left back with Gray & Gresko to cover.

Right midfield/forward. He will probably persevere with Emerton & if he`s still sh!t after a few games put Thompson there. Gallagher is another option but I prefer the shad lad in the middle.

Left midfield/forward. De Pedro is probably going to make the side, but I`ll reserve judgment because I`ve only seen him once. If we go all defensive like Douglas will play.

Forwards ? Our biggest problem , in my opinion. I think Stead is quality, but who to play with him, I`m not convinced our resident porn star is any different from last season. Dickov might be OK , but I can`t see him getting into double figures. If we`re going to sign any more players, forwards are a priority.

Manager, Souey is the man. We will finish 14th.

The broader picture, top four, Arsenal (if they keep Vieira), Chelsea, Liverpool, Man u.

Bottom three from, WBA, Norwich, Palace,Everton, City, Portsmouth and us.

Chelsea for the FA cup

Boro to retain t`other cup

Burnley to go down

Stanley to go up

City to buy more asylum seekers

I’m going for a tense, nail-biting 2-1 win for Rovers.

Amo with a header from an Emerton corner on 2 mins to open the scoring in front of a poor crowd of 412 (if you include the 8 people on the hill behind the Riverside).

Horsfield equalizes on 26mins. One of the blokes on the hill half celebrates and is set upon by the other 7. Crowd now 411.

At half time someone happens to mention to Deano that it’s a poor show from the Blackburn public. Quick as a flash Deano realises he forgot to flick the Deanoswitch™ to activate the Deanocard™ readers. He rectifies his Deanomistake™ and the crowd quickly swells to 17,342.

Stead completes the scoring on 54 mins. Crowd 14,104 (Riverside have gone).
