McClarky Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 I don't understand the obsession people have with getting this guy in the team. We have finally found a balanced midfield with Emerton playing on the left so why change it? Even as a sub he is behind Thommo in the pecking order and is unlikely to get on unless their are injuries.

greggyk Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 (edited) We have to remember. Pedersen (like the rest of the squad) is not a Mark Hughes signing. Pedersen could have been a rover for years in Hughes' mind, so he doesnt feel he has to prove the signing of this player(a very average one IMO) to anyone. Im sure if souness was still here, he would be playing every week instead of Reid because souness would have to justify his latest signing Edited November 28, 2004 by greggyk
rover6 Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 1/ MGP was @#/? when he played in the first 2/3 games. As was Steven Reid. As was Brett Emerton, most times, excluding the Wolves mauling. We are now reaping the rewards of being patient with these two guys and giving them TIME on the PITCH to adapt.

We would just like to see our most expensive signing this summer at least feature a little.. True we are on a good run and the midfield is settled and we are reaping the rewards of Emerton & Reid showing their true potential. Morten-Gamst was impressive and raved about for Tromso, so if given the chance and taking it (like Reid) think what a player we'd have? A few minutes here and there surely would suffice?
rog of the rovers Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 if it aint broke dont fix it. MGP will get his chance when Reid does his ban/ or someone gets injured. Then we will see what hes made of

herbergeehh Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 MG @#/? hasn't. ...had the chance either.

Flopsy Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 HE HAS NOT BEEN PLAYING AT ALL WELL IN THE RESERVES SO WHY THE HELL SHOULD HE BE GIVEN A CHANCE IN THE FIRST TEAM??? DePedro looked better than he did

John Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Dont know why I am bothering but this thread is getting ridiculous- I really do wonder if some people are taking the pi*s.
broadsword Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Neither has McEveley but he has been playing regularly.. McEveley has appeared regularly in the first team? A regular appearance rate of 1 game per 15 or so ...
Ewood Dream Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Neither has McEveley but he has been playing regularly.. McEveley has appeared regularly in the first team? A regular appearance rate of 1 game per 15 or so ... Well he was a regular for the past few games. Nothing to stop Morten Gamst getting a similar run if he can prove himself.
broadsword Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 McEveley has made what, two appearances as Hughes has struggled to find a back four permutation that will stop us conceding. Whereas the middle four largely picks itself due to some excellent performances. Can you see a possible connection between why Pederson can't get a game and McEveley has been able to? Bimey this thread is a fifty-two page joke full of CM wannabes who want to see someone different in the shirt. Just for the novelty value.
S15 Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 HE HAS NOT BEEN PLAYING AT ALL WELL IN THE RESERVES SO WHY THE HELL SHOULD HE BE GIVEN A CHANCE IN THE FIRST TEAM??? DePedro looked better than he did THANK YOU... WHY THE ###### SHOULD WE PLAY MGP WHEN WE ARE FIVE GAMES UNBEATEN W/ ONE OF THE BEST MIDFIELDS ABOUT?!
Ewood Dream Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Bimey this thread is a fifty-two page joke full of CM wannabes who want to see someone different in the shirt. Just for the novelty value. Or maybe we just want to see our most expensive signing this summer to have at least a chance, since players like Reid, McEveley and Gallagher have come out of the reserves and given a run in the first-team. Sheeeesh stop being such a drama queen..
Radagast Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 And how long did your examples need to wait to get their chances?
coffeeman Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Dunno if this has been mentioned, but according to norwegian TV2 Nettavisen, Stig inge Bjørnebye (now assistant norway manager for those who didn't know) was in Blackburn last friday and had a talk with Hughes about Pedersen. According to Hughes, MGP will get his chance, he just feels the young lad is not ready yet. No need to panic )
Maverick Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 In an newspaper interview today, MGP says he feels he is closer to getting into the team. He does not give any reason for stating this. I guess and hope it is because he is preforming better in training and he feels that Hughes is backing him up even if he is not playing at the moment. On another note: Car crazy MGP has bought a new BMW 645 Ci.
Rover IN Bury Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Maybe MGP knows if Reid will be banned or not for that elbow against Birmingham
S15 Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 MGP certainly talks a good game eh. If reid gets banned i expect Thompson to replace him.
Hughesy Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 If redit gets banned then i would imagine he would give MGP his chance. We need wide players in the team and thommo prefers the centre and would drift inside too much.
broadsword Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 No, he'll put Thompson out wide. We'll still in schtuck and need geezers with experience willing to fight, not a Norwegian fairy.
Hasta Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 Thommo is a proven Premiership player, even in a right midfield role, and it would be foolish not to play him in Reid's absence. Especially in our situation. However MGP might get onto the bench in place of Douglas.
krislu Posted November 29, 2004 Author Posted November 29, 2004 Agree Thompson should start if Reid is suspended, but would be nice to at least see MGP at some part during the game..
