den Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 The signing has been confirmed on the official site. As our Norwegian friends told us last night, a four year contract for an undisclosed sum. Rovers have until 5 pm today, to obtain international clearance, to allow him to play against Man U tomorrow. Official site
Flopsy Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Now I'm not slagging Souness Its like saying "Im not racist, but....."
Hughesy Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Really hope he can get clearance and then we can put him straight on the left for tomorrow
SamDingle Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Gamst Pedersen.... This has just got to be another turkey. So who have you beaten to his signature this time, following your breathtaking swoop to pluck Emerton from the clutches of Man Utd, Newcastle and Madrid last year. You know, this squad he's putting together... it's not going to be a million miles away from the one handed to him by the fabulous Mr Kidd. Except of course this one lacks Duff, Dunn, Jansen etc.

Flopsy Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 How are burnley doing at the moment Sam? I havent heard what with me concentrating on the premiership and all
Neil Weaver Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Flopsy, from what I heard, they fought hard with the likes of Mansfield, Accrington, and Guiseley to secure the signature of Frank Sinclair.

broadsword Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Right, this is good news. All we need now is a new right-back, a couple of central defenders, a right-winger until Thompson comes back, a central midfielder who can put tehir foot in, and a decent all-round striker! No worries.

WaffleWag Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Can he take penalties? We're in for a deluge sooner or later....... the last thing he did for Tromsø was to miss a penalty....
USABlue Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Gamst Pedersen.... This has just got to be another turkey. Except of course this one lacks Duff, Dunn, Jansen etc. You mean like you said Jon Stead would be. Tosser, you string together a win and a few draws and you clarrots come out like cockroaches, I liked the quiet on here at the back end of last season when you lot buggared off cos you was petrified you were going back down. It's a long season Samantha, we will see where you are in a while. The fact of the matter that actually irks you is we had the money to spend where as you...., well, " Get your bricks here, come buy your clarrot bricks here" Heh Heh Heh.
chris Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 i'm pretty hopefull about these signings this year, Souness certainly has proved he's still good in the transfer market, however I still think Souness is fighting a battle with himself over last season and lost allot of self confidence and this is resulting in consistently changing the team and formation and playing players out of position. Souness needs to get some stability badly. Souness certainly has the tools to do well now just hope he know how to use them, and some advice, Don't play Matteo in midfield.
Ninjathunder Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 "It will take a few weeks for him to grasp what our football is all about". He's not the only one, Mr Souness.
greggyk Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 (edited) I dont get it, how come Mr. Souness' tactics are perfect for his first 3 seasons, then, for no reason they dont work for the next 2??? ppl are very harsh on souness Edited August 27, 2004 by greggyk
John Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 I cant remember but what was GS like in our first two seasons in the Prem. Tactics wise I am sure we were simple but attratctive 4-4-2. Consistency in team selection because we were winning.
MCMC1875 Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Rovers have always played 4-4-2 in my memory. Souey's tactics for the 1st season promoted had the benefit of surprise. I really fear for Jon Stead with no Cole and Gally absent.
herbergeehh Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Gally is at least in the squad for tomorrow's game, alongside Gamst Pedersen and Ferguson. Let's hope Souey can put his differences (if he has any..) aside with Gally and put him on instead of Yorke - who did nothing to secure his place against Arsenal.
Walls Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Gamst is apparently very much both footed. He didn't start using his left until he was 15 but now it is his more dominent foot. According to SSN anyway. Wonder if he can teach himself to win penalties...
Paul Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Pedersen has received international clearance and is "in line for a debut against Manchester United"
Hughesy Posted August 27, 2004 Posted August 27, 2004 Pedersen has received international clearance and is "in line for a debut against Manchester United" Got a source?
