KnutsfordRover Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Is anyone up for organising a banner for the blackburn end, showing the number of games since we last had pen. Bit like the one at old trafford were they have the number of years since man city won something. It would be a gud laugh and gain some media attention. SOUNESS FOR EVER!!!

super_neill Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Sounds good to me, can't see it happening though who would make it? and knowing our kill joy stewards they won't let us have it!
laughatthedingles Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 class idea, we should also add it on the front page of this website under the "days since" part.
1864roverite Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 dont forget the velcro on the number part and also leave a space for a third figure !
vyeo Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 brilliant idea! though i haven't even been near ewood... hope i manage to catch a glimpse of the banner on television if it does happen! and maybe... just maybe, some ref will give us a pen...
BRFC4EVA Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Should do a really big one, like they do it Italy at the start of games. The banner starts at the front and people pass it over their heads as it gradually works it way up the bbe lower. Class idea
roversmum Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 I saw some people being stopped from putting up a banner at the Blackburn End yesterday. Why?
herbergeehh Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 (edited) Just wanted to show you this, it's pictures taken from Vålerenga's (played against Newcastle in UEFA-cup, remember?) supporter club Klanen (the Clan) and what they managed to come up with for the match against rivals Lillestrøm, yesterday! VIF - LSK, 29th of August Here's my favourite one - fantastic work ! PS: This one says "Canary Grill - 45 minutes on both sides". (LSK is called the Canaries...) Know this is a bit offtopic, but it just shows how good some clubs are at making TIFO and how many working hours some people are willing to put down ! (mind you, VIF makes new banners for every match) Edited August 30, 2004 by herbergeehh
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 (edited) Much better proposition: how about one with how many years since we were last beaten by Burnley! A real kick in the balls for 'em How about donations from mb members towards this?..it could be our very own and on display at EVERY home game Edited August 30, 2004 by SIMON GARNERS 194

SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 What you think mods?.....would be VERY popular!!
KnutsfordRover Posted August 30, 2004 Author Posted August 30, 2004 We need someone to organise this. Any volunteers? Where do you reckon the best place for it would be? The left hand side of the b'burn end?

chris Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 also the banner should feature in writing every game we have played since the last penalty, the line-ups in each game, the ref ofcourse from each game and the attendance at each game, and every person that was in the crowd should also be named as witnesses
Kennysuperbuyer Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Great. Put me down to contribute. SOUNESS - YOUR TIME IS UP. has a nice ring to it!
grizfoot Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Brilliant idea it i'll need to b big though so the ref can spot it
herbergeehh Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Great. Put me down to contribute. SOUNESS - YOUR TIME IS UP. has a nice ring to it! Swap Souness with Kennysuperbuyer, then I'll might get in aswell..
Kennysuperbuyer Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 Brilliant idea it i'll need to b big though so the ref can spot it Agreed. What about one outside his house! Bigger the better because he lives in Cheadle.
T4E Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 How about a banner reading "We're not very good, but like to blame our own inadequacies on other factors". Why is it always someone/something else's fault?
herbergeehh Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Because we've lost two points against United and one against Southampton on referee mistakes alone.
Manchester Blue Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 So you don't think the ref cost us points on Saturday or the Saturday before?
T4E Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 Because we've lost two points against United and one against Southampton on referee mistakes alone. We lost points versus Southampton because we werent good enough to hold on to a lead. Ditto Man United. Fair enough, the referee's made some bad decisions, but it certainly wasnt solely down to them. Bad officiating can only be blamed so many times, things can only happen so many times until you have to start looking slightly deeper for the cause. We bring these things on ourselves by leaving the door open for teams. How they get through that door is incidental.
