Ossydave Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 damo, are you just trying to show off that you subscribe to the times online? I think I will wait for someone to post the article on here thanks, rather than pay to read it. I didn't pay to read Damo's link?

Manchester Blue Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Yeah that's the article I read Damo. Not sure what you mean about subscribing The Gull as I'm not subscribed and I can read it. Not sure anyone can paste it due to copyright laws though.
RoverDrake Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 With an on-form confident striker options in Jansen, Stead, Dickov, Gallagher & Bothroyd, we have good options and variety. Pffft and here Schmeichel was saying on MOTD that our main position we need reinforcements is up-front.
roversmum Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Pffft and here Schmeichel was saying on MOTD that our main position we need reinforcements is up-front. I'm beginning to think that when talking about football, nobody knows what they are talking about........
Ricky Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Best thing is that we have a price agreed ALREADY, always the best option when taking a player on loan otherwise they come in, do well and then the selling club puts the price up.
Hughesy Posted September 21, 2004 Posted September 21, 2004 Very Impressed with Jay at the weekend. Hopefully he will get a chance against Bournemouth

It's definitely a very good move to agree a price. However, given he's from a not-particularly-wealthy club, and wasn't a first choice player there, I was surprised we agreed on £2m. I'm sure we could have got him for 500-750k less, which is a hefty amount when you're as short of transfer cash as Rovers. £2m may still turn out to be a bargain, but still not as good a bargain as we might have got.

Actually I was thinking the same last night (sad i know!) ..£2 million?!? Hopefully that is the most that the club could sell at, rather than the actual price... besides.... Ghaddafi (sp?) doesn't need the money..
