jim mk2 Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Back pages tomorrow. Reid in line for Blackburn By Michael Morgan Peter Reid has emerged as the surprise favourite to take over as Blackburn boss. The Rovers board have drawn up their short-list of contenders to replace Newcastle-bound Graeme Souness and Reid is top, ahead of Everton's David Moyes. Former Everton and England midfielder Reid, 47, has powerful longstanding allies at Ewood Park. Rovers tried to tempt him from Sunderland before they handed the job to Souness four years ago. and so and so on...... I can't write any more: I'm too depressed.

Quack Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 The board can have my season ticket back if they appoint Reid.
roversmum Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! In a word!
ABBEY Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 jessssssus no!!! but jim ?you moan for soey to go,you say you wont go to ewood again if hoddle takes over and now you moan at reid....CHRIST
krislu Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 If this is true then I suggest that you Jim bring togehter a couple of hundred Blackburn supporters and organize a huge protest down at Ewood Park. If we sign Peter Reid, we WILL go down!
modes98 Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Another new manager for another new day!?! Noway we would pick reid as we would have to pay cov, for someone who isn't doing well there. When it was out that soui had left a few cov fans said please take reid from us and i siad a rud ewor dor 2! can't see him being installed its Hughesy
philipl Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Its all a betting fix involving the Mirror reporter so jim is on the wind up. Lets face it, there is stupidly easy money to be made from the suckers who believe the Daily Mirror and place betts on Peter Reid as a result. The Board don't even meet until tomorrow to consider the initial analysis of applications. Calm down everybody and bet against Reid becoming manager to make yourself a bob or two.
Scotty Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I reckon this is Jim seeing if he can get Brownie to bet on another manager.
Ben-2000 Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 What paper is this in, the daily rubbish? Probably, I don't usually believe the things I read in the daily's
AlanK Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 I`m about to go to bed and this is the stuff of nightmares.
Hasta Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Some mugs obviously believe it as he's been backed as short as 3/1 on Betfair. However he's now out to 35/1 if you want to believe tabloid codswallop.
Martin Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 (edited) It would be a real shocker of an appointment. Surely they know that Reid isn't the name the fans want. I can see why they (might) want him though, very similar to Souness. Edited September 8, 2004 by Martin
John Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 Similar to Souness but Reid talks a lot more sh*t.
Glenn Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 What paper is this in, the daily rubbish? As it's a PA article it'll be most of them, all slightly reworded. However, whilst Jim's always bob-on about the artciles, the articles themself are often bobbins.
Hasta Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 (edited) If we did get him he'd bring his mate Stan as first team coach in his jog pants and white trainers. Edited September 8, 2004 by Hasta
ABBEY Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 If we did get him he'd bring his mate Stan as first team coach in his jog pants and white trainers. IF THEY BROUGHT TURNIP IN ID BURN MY SHIRT !!
92er Posted September 8, 2004 Posted September 8, 2004 The rumour before Souness came was that Uncle Jack wanted Reid-who had done a very good job at Man City and was then doing a good job at Sunderland-to be manager but he wouldn't come until the end of his contract. Uncle Jack wanted Souness to sign an 18 month contract but Souness wouldn't play ball and the rest is history.
