MCMC1875 Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Hughes' long ball tactics Is this for real? Playing long ball tactics is the WORST style of football..!! Don't panic. He could only do the best with very limited resources at Wales. I wouldn't expect a carbon copy at Ewood.
Mbm Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 If I were Wales manager and I had Hartson up front and a naff and aging central midfield I'd use long ball too
roversfan1 Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Long ball is the worst type of football but at the moment I dont care ! If it means we win games and the confidence grows then fine as thats when we will start seeing some proper football by players not scared of loosing or the critisism that follows it. Give Hughes a chance before knocking him. He isnt even in post and people are already commenting on the tactics he MIGHT use !!
mattyboy6000 Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 If I were Wales manager and I had Hartson up front and a naff and aging central midfield I'd use long ball too sounds similar to ewood. friedel>>>stead
Ossydave Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Big gangly Hartson nodding down for little nippy Earnshaw is basically playing to your strengths isn't it? Don't see how we'd even consider playing longball given our strikeforce.
Ossydave Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 either way hes a first class pr!ck I don't think he prances round the Golden Cross with a Strongbow beanie hat on though on a Friday night
krislu Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Give Hughes a chance before knocking him. He isnt even in post and people are already commenting on the tactics he MIGHT use !! I'm not writing him off or anyting, but the importance of getting a manager who prefers the modern style of football cant be stressed enough..
greggyk Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 (edited) I see that Kammy,Jim and that Norwegian fella were all wrong about the mark hughes deal being done and dusted Edited September 15, 2004 by greggyk
Ossydave Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 (edited) I see that Kammy,Jim and that Norwegian fella were all wrong about the mark hughes deal being done and dusted Why? Is there still some dust on it? Has Souness took the cleaners with him to Newcastle too? Edited September 15, 2004 by Ossydave
promoted2001 Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Wales FA have announced a 3:30 press conference to announce the future of the Wales National team manager. Watch it on Sky Sports News
Dufflite Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 There is a press conference at the Welsh FA at 3.30pm. Talk Sport are covering it. Looks like the rumours were right.

John Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 On Hughes the manager http://newssearch.bbc.co.uk/sportacademy/h...000/2330163.stm
Paul Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Talksport; Stream it here or if you're in the office with a tranny 1089 or 1053 AM
T4E Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 Slightly uneasy that its the FAW that are holding a press conference, and not Rovers. Granted its probably because Rovers have gone through the correct channels, but part of me cant help thinking this is going to be a denial?
krislu Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 (edited) Talksport; Stream it here or if you're in the office with a tranny 108.9 or 1053 Does he spit when talking? Surely sounds like it... The guy on talksport, not you Paul.. Edited September 15, 2004 by krislu
T4E Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 or if you're in the office with a tranny Not guilty your honour, I havent seen SteB for days..........
promoted2001 Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 I think the odds are that it may be denial. Why would they say his going to rovers and rovers not announcing anything. But the odds are also high that they are simply announcing that blackburn have asked permission to talk to him and that wales have let them.
Hughesy Posted September 15, 2004 Posted September 15, 2004 I think the reason Wales are holding a press conference and not Blackburn is because it is a national manager. If Sven was set to leave for a club, im sure you would see England holding the press conference 1st.
