Ricky Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 It wouldn't surprise me if their was some truth in the story. I guess Rovers aren't making much money for them these days. Still think Jack would never have let it happen, if only the great man was still with us.
broadsword Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Who would want to buy us? We're not an attractive proposition. I can't imagine that it would be in line with JW's wishes, and I can only hope that it's tabloid rubbish.
Cocker Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I can see the sales pitch now: Ok, we have no online merchendise. We can pull in a crowd of 18,000. We may get relegated this season if things carry on the way they are going. 50M bargain
philipl Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 (edited) "new manager Mark Hughes is fighting a battle for survival" "Walker bought Rovers the Premiership title in 1995" "Blackburn Rovers are up for sale" "John Cross is an idiot with no regard for journalistic ethics" One of the above four statements does not appear in the article and is the only one that is true. Backroom trueblue Posted September 25, 2004 Backroom Posted September 25, 2004 Since Jack Walker bought them the title !!!! To$$ers !! I think Rovers fans should now treat the 'mirror' as they would any piece of Andrex - and wipe the jolly ol' derrier on it !
1864roverite Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I ahve emialed the clown outlining my utter contempt for his exclusive story

I think Rovers fans should now treat the 'mirror' as they would any piece of Andrex - and wipe the jolly ol' derrier on it ! yeah, Jack Walker didn't buy us the title, he just gave a mid table div 2 team loads and loads and loads of money to buy players that won us the title, totally different!
stuwilky Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I would like to hear about a team who didnt "buy" the title sinceNottingham Forest. Its pure cack, how much did Rovers spend vs how much did Arsenal spend? Hmmm only one winner there.

I'm not going to get into that argument with you Chris.. suffice it to say that yes, Jack's money helped - but look at the many millions other clubs have spent (much more than Rovers) and still failed to win the title ! It's about having money - yes - but more importantly.. how you use it !
Craigman Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 What annoys me is the fact that during that season Manchester United signed Andy Cole for a record fee !! They tried to buy the title during that season.
Radagast Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 I ahve emialed the clown outlining my utter contempt for his exclusive story I can't find an e-mail address for the cretin, where did you send it to?

blue phil Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Apparently the Walker family are happy to see the club sold for £50m. Paul - how much have we got in the funds ?
Parasyte Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Well, if they want to sell, I cant see them being all that generous with the cash anymore. Dont get me wrong, I'd prefer things to stay within the Walker Trust, but if Johnny FOreigner (or, even more unlikely, a local) wants to plough millions into the club, I'm all for it. Success comes above loyalty to the Trust. Be different if it was Jack, but as it isnt...
greggyk Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Isnt every club up for sale at the right price?
1864roverite Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Brockhall ALONE must be worth somewhere in the region of 30 million let alone the club
stuwilky Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Brockhall is owned by the club? It is indeed. Not convinced its worth anywhere near £30million. The massive sports complex at work only cost £12million and that involved around £2million to shift some great crested newt type creatures.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Cant make my mind up if it would be a good or bad thing to happen to the club....we could certainly do with some coin come January!
Paul Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Apparently the Walker family are happy to see the club sold for £50m. Paul - how much have we got in the funds ? Slightly fewer 000s than that Nice thought, we could all take turns as manager. The championship would be over by Christmas
Alex Rover Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Slightly fewer 000s than that Nice thought, we could all take turns as manager. The championship would be over by Christmas I'm sure Arsenal and Chelsea would have something to say about that though
Rovermatt Posted September 25, 2004 Posted September 25, 2004 Walker bought Rovers the Premiership title in 1995 Maddening!!!!!
