rover6 Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 (edited) Under Souness, did we ever draw against Liverpool in the league, let alone win? All I can remember is hammerings and Heskey nearly scoring a hat-trick *shudders*. Talking about three goal hauls - we may as well sort this one out now. Milan Baros or Djibril Cisse? My prediction - 1-1. We can only hope. Edited October 26, 2004 by rover6

Eddie Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 (edited) Well may as well have a bit of optimism, at least for a day. 3-2 Rovers Rover 6- we did draw against liverpool. 2-2 wasn't it, december of the season we finished sixth, boxing day fixture, cole scored that stunner. Edited October 26, 2004 by Eddie
frosty Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Friedel Neill Todd Short Gray Emo Fergie Flitcroft Jansen Dickov Bothroyd I'll go for a 1-1 Bothroyd ( 22 ) Luis Garcia ( 71 )
Tango Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Under Souness, did we ever draw against Liverpool in the league, let alone win? We drew at Anfield 1-1 last season (I think it was last anyway) when Cole hit that screaming half-volley from about 30 yards. How it never won goal of the month I will never know...
Ste B Posted October 26, 2004 Author Posted October 26, 2004 Under Souness, did we ever draw against Liverpool in the league, let alone win? We drew at Anfield 1-1 last season (I think it was last anyway) when Cole hit that screaming half-volley from about 30 yards. How it never won goal of the month I will never know... Also Matty scored the first goal in the home game last year. Then we had that 4-3 game at Anfield as well.
1864roverite Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 For the first time in Premiership history rovers will lose 4-0 at home However all is not lost this result will definately be the turning point in our season one way or t'other either it is the massive wakey wakey call or it simply condemns us to also rans and ensures a quick drop into oblivion. sharp ? maybe but its bloody well happening
Ozz Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 I don`t make predictions, and I never will. If Rovers were on eBay, we would have negative feedback. I Liverpool were on eBay, they would have a shooting red star and feedback of +1232. Net result, a confusing and financially baffling referral to the Trading Standards people. No sale and money back.
1864roverite Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 In that case Oz see you at the shop tomorrow then !
92er Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Didn't we draw the home games in the first two seasons back?
RovertheHill Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Oh for that side in 96 when we last beat them. Okay - I'm fed up of doom and gloom. First a penalty (who takes them - no idea anymore?) and a scuff off the back of Stead's arse. 2-1 win. COME ONNNNN
frosty Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Under Souness, did we ever draw against Liverpool in the league, let alone win? Also, a 2-2 stunner at Ewood right at the very start of 2002/2003. The time when Grabbi scored that header........
KingCrip Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Anyone know how ticket sales are going for this game?
bubblerrovers Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 This one's easy!!! after all the pre match talk of improved defence i predict we'll concede within 3 mins then usually play will be resumed! rovers 0 liverpool 3 will rovers ever win again
samtheozzy Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Oy I'll do a preview! I was scheduled for this game anyway but I forgot (and Den *again* forgot to remind me ). Should have it in a couple of hours.
cuidado Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Brad Neill, Nissa, Short, Grey Emerton Reid Ferguson Gresko Jansen Boothroyd Holy cow. Nissa, Gray and Neill in one defence? Cant see us conceding less than 5-6 goals with those defenders. Gresko in left wing? Bothroyd+Jansen, the fearless striker-duo? Please do not Hughes start with this team.
Hughesy Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Anyone know how ticket sales are going for this game? Liverpool have sold all there tickets according to a scouser at my work. Not too sure about how our sales are going. I expect a crowd of 26,000 - 27,500
emerton Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 i have a strange feeling about this game 2-2 but i also had one against chelsea aswell. but one thing for sure id like to see either de pedro or mgp on the left to give us some balance
Maverick Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 The question is who will score a hat-trick against us? Rovers 1 - 4 Liverpool
Blackpool_Rover Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Have a great feeling about this game....honest. Friedel Neil Short Todd Gray Emerton Ferguson Reid Djorkaef Jansen Stead Subs...Enckleman, Matteo, Pedersen, Tugay, Dickov Blackburn Rovers 1 (Pedersen Pen) Liverpool 4 (Cisse x3, Alonso)
bob Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Any team that doesn’t contain Reid and Dickov is fine by me would love to see Gally get on the bench at least and maybe Jansen and Stead to start upfront?? 2 - 2 Rovers getting a penalty Bringing some friends to swell the attendance so around 27,000
SuperStella Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 My team: --------------Friedel---------------- ----Neill----Short----Todd----Matteo-- ---Emerton---Ferguson----Douglas--- ---------------Djorkeaff------------ ---------Dickov------Stead-----------
The Producer Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 1-3 to Liverpool I'm afraid. Cisse has been misfiring, so presumably we'll gift him all three goals. I can just about live with a loss as long as Emerton returns to right-wing and Reid (or indeed anyone new) is tried out at centre-mid or right-back.
SIMON GARNERS 194 Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 2-1 Liverpool, no doubt Rover will give their all but the quality is just not there anymore.
den Posted October 27, 2004 Posted October 27, 2004 Liverpool hadn't sold all their tickets this morning. The son in law rang the 'pool ticket office and got two tickets. He hasn't been to Anfield for two years but that didn't matter, they're on open sale.
