Blackburn Rovers are preparing for an approach from Dutch giants Feyenoord for boss Jon Dahl Tomasson.
The highly rated Dane is firmly in the frame for the job if it comes up. He played for the club and one of his sons is still at their academy.
Tomasson did a fine job at Blackburn in his first season but the lure of a team close to him would be hard to resist - and he is one of the leading candidates.
It would be a badly-timed loss as Blackburn had ear-marked Swansea’s Russell Martin as his replacement.
However Southampton are close to appointing Martin to head off further interest in him from Leicester City if they go down.
Martin is entering the last year of his contract with the Swans and could go if the £450,000 compensation is paid.
