BRFCS.com are entering into the world of digital collectable art as we launch our first official NFT collection.
The BRFCS.com Forum Legends collection will feature illustrations of 24 of the forum’s most popular and illustrious contributors from the last 30 years.
Northeby’s auction house has partnered with the fan site to help create the project, which will be available to purchase during a 12 hour online sale today.
The digital collection will have two categories – the Heroes and Villains Edition.
The Heroes category will consist of 10 one-off AFT forum avatars of the “legends” from BRFCS.com’s past and present, depicted as superheroes. They will go under the hammer during the online auction, with bidding starting at £14.22.
Meanwhile, the Villains Edition is a limited series that will see the avatars of banned and controversial users portrayed as supervillains.
Users will have the opportunity to own a unique randomly generated Hero Edition NFT, with the exact image revealed once the sale comes to an end to mirror the anticipation created when opening a pack of football cards. These will be priced at £75.
BRFCS.com have also indicated that its NFTs are digital collectable works of art and should not be considered investments.
Stuart Grimshaw, Senior Vice Chief President Officer of Metaverse Development at BRFCS.com, said: “The BRFCS.com Legends drop is a first-of-its-kind initiative, which seeks to bring a new, exciting and innovative way for supporters to give their money to the forum.
“We always strive to adopt new emerging technology for the benefit of fans and the club – only last year we started making use of cookies on our website!
“We wanted to create a really accessible collection of NFTs that are truly unique to BRFCS.com, and simply give forum users an opportunity to explore this new and trending topic, and most importantly, the opportunity to own a digital token that says you own a digital image. That anyone can copy… if they know how to right-click…”
