4,000 Holes today celebrates its 34th birthday, with the first issue of the popular fanzine having gone on sale before the Sunderland match at Ewood on Saturday 16th September 1989.

Incredibly, despite the rise of the internet, the fanzine still remains very well loved amongst Rovers supporters and the landmark 100th edition in 2020 delved into its lengthy history.

More recently, unique issues have included the Girona ‘fan takeover’ hybrid programme/fanzine and the hugely popular ‘Decades Specials’ covering the 2000s and 2010s in a series of random tales.

Contributions are always welcome from old and new writers and the next deadline is Sunday 1st October (for Issue 110) - please email [email protected]

Looking further ahead, Issue 111 will be a 1990s edition in a similar format to the previous specials so please send over any ideas, memories or obscure stories from that decade for the shortlist.

Subscriptions and individual issues of the fanzine are available to buy here: https://roversfanzine.bigcartel.com/
