Thanks to the sterling efforts of “We Are The Rovers”, the newly branded Rovers Trust has worked closely with the club to arrange what has become known as #FansTakeover Day.
This weekend’s match will be sponsored by 'We Are The Rovers'.
This will be the first time the supporters group has ever sponsored a men’s first-team fixture and signifies the ongoing development and strength of the relationship between the football club and our fans.
A key objective for Rovers and We Are The Rovers is to improve fan experience and encourage new supporters to attend matches and start following the club. In addition, Saturday’s sponsorship ties in with the club's ongoing #OneRovers campaign, highlighting how Rovers is a club for all.
During the half-time interval against Girona, CEO Steve Waggott will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with ‘We Are The Rovers’, giving the supporters group the platform to be involved with key strategic planning and encouraging them to bring their own ideas forwards.
Thanks to the amazing generosity of Rovers supporters from all parts of the globe, a truly magnificent sum of £660 has been donated to go towards funding tickets for children from Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone. ‘We Are The Rovers’ have topped up the fund with a donation of £300 and BRFCS have in turn added £100 to make a grand total of £1060.
As a result, 40 children plus 5 chaperones will be ferried to Ewood in a chartered coach to watch a game that they would not otherwise have attended.
For our part, BRFCS/4000 Holes are each contributing to the experience…
