Latest Rovers Transfer Rumours

Coventry City and Stoke City are keen on Blackburn striker Sam Gallagher - but won’t meet the asking price.

Gallagher is deep in a very lucrative contract with Rovers and looks too expensive for the Sky Blues as they seek a successor for Viktor Gyokeres. The Potters are also interested and may return if they are still in the market later in the window.

Blackburn may sell Gallagher if the price is right and they will ask for around £5 million but his salary makes it a costly deal for a Championship club.

Tottenham are stunned to find out Blackburn Rovers want a staggering £9.45 million for England youth centre half Ashley Phillips.

Spurs thought they were signing the brilliant teenage defender for only £2 million plus extras in a bargain swoop.

However I can reveal the extraordinary package that Rovers want for their discovery, a youngster tipped for the top at club and international level.

Rovers are demanding a guaranteed £5 million up front, with a chunk paid immediately and the rest settled in the next two years.

Blackburn then want £150,000 when Phillips starts his first at his new club and they are looking for TEN of those extra bonuses in all over a total of 80 appearances.

So if Phillips makes that target for Spurs then his fee rises to £6.5 millon.

On top of that Phillips would cost a further £250,000 every time Phillips starts in over half of the games in the Premier League. There are two of those extras in all.

There would also be a further £250,000 if the club is in Europe and he plays in 50 per cent of matches. Again this counts for a couple of campaigns only.

In a less likely addition there is a £500,000 bonus due to Blackburn should Phillips be part of a side that wins the title or the Champions League.

Phillips is rated the best young defender for his age in England so Blackburn believe there should be a further £1.5 million on the international front.

The first would be if Phillips starts an under-21 game for England, with a small £50,000 reward.

Then there is a £200,000 pay day if Phillips starts for the full national side in a competitive game.

And on top of that - just to finish the extras - there is a £400,000 due to Blackburn every time Phillips picks up five caps.

So if Phillips becomes an England regular that would mean £120,000 from being a Three Lions star.

Blackburn even want a large 17.5 per cent sell on if Phillips is moved on which would take his value even higher.
