After the longest period in the club’s history without a win on the opening day of the league season, Rovers finally managed to change the record with a victory against Swansea City on Saturday.
Rovers did beat Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup first round last season, which was the first competitive match of 2020/21, but it took another year to finally banish the league hoodoo and start the season with three points.
