Rovers are making a surprise move for centre-back Ross Sykes from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise.
The Blues are looking into a deal for Sykes who left Accrington Stanley a year ago and could be interested in a return.
The Belgian side want around £600,000 for Sykes which is within Blackburn’s budget after they raised cash.
Coach Jon Dahl Tomasson has been chasing experienced Danny Batth at Sunderland who is available and looking for a two year deal. However the money men at the club are worried about his age and want someone younger and with potential sell-on value.
Stanley will hope a deal goes ahead as they are due a healthy chunk of the profit on a player they sold for £250,000.
