Tottenham’s bid for Blackburn Rovers teenage defender Ashley Phillips is in danger of collapsing.
Phillips has had a medical with Spurs but the clubs are well apart on their valuations of the England youth cap.
Interested clubs were told Phillips has a low price clause in his contract but Blackburn are looking for a bigger fee.
Rovers are asking for £5 million plus many extras for Phillips and Tottenham are unlikely to meet that valuation.
There may be a row over the existence of this confidential escape clause and the wording of it. Others sides were told it was £2 million plus extras.
