Jon Dahl Tomasson shocked Blackburn Rovers fans by saying he was willing to leave for ‘nothing’ in the summer.
But that statement is not the full story of why the Dane is still at the club and also key to his future.
Insiders reveal Blackburn stopped Tomasson from going in the close season because they feared he would walk into another job.
Rovers WERE willing to let Tomasson go after they decided to cut back on spending. But with a catch.
However they demanded he would have to pay them the rest of his contract if he stepped into a new post.
Now Tomasson has been hit with more bad news after a troubled January window and his future is one again uncertain.
But the exit will revolve around whether Blackburn waive the compensation clause if he takes new work soon after leaving.
