Rovers' bright start to the season continues with a well-deserved victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground. The loss of Adam Armstrong was not felt here as both Rovers centre backs stepped up to score. 

There were plenty of encouraging performances but Ayala, Travis and Buckley especially showed their worth. If Rovers can find the right grade of cotton wool in which to wrap Daniel Ayala then he could be instrumental to Rovers defensive capability, notwithstanding his goalscoring potential.

Forest look to have their own problems but all too often Rovers fail to take advantage of such scenarios so this was particularly welcome. After all, you can only beat what is put in front of you.
