[Archived] Upcoming 360 Games
Biddy replied to Shevchenko's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
I bothered to have a look at Marketplace last night and noticed a whole heap of new demos and videos on there. Of the things I've tried / looked at so far, Sonic Demo - Don't bother, it's pap. Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 - Looks stunning and everything is visually correct. I have found it too difficult however and cannot really get into it. Whenever I attack I get blocked and as soon as you hit the mat a prompt says "press any button repeatedly". Well you seen to break the buttons and still nothing happens! I'm sure I'll get into it eventually. Nice to see Doom (the original PC version) has made it onto Live. You can even play in multiplayer. Don't think I'll bother buying it though. Video for Shrek 3 game - Definately aimed at kids, looks rubbish. Video montage of arcade games coming to Marketplace. Some nice stuff, nothing especially exciting apart from the 2 stills mentioning Sensible Soccer due ealry 2007. Trailer for Assassins Creed - Looks very much like a prince of persia style free roaming platformer. Maybe of some interest but doesn't really float my boat. I am currently downloading the demo of F.E.A.R. - not sure why as I already have the PC version. Still it's great on the PC and I want to see what it's like on the 360. There's loads more on there including a trailer of PGR4 and Halo Wars (whatever that may be) -
Yuk I hope we get Feyenoord and Basel away. They are easy to get to, and quite cheap until the airlines realise.

Not that we know we are playing them away yet, but how the heck do you get to Nancy?

[Archived] Fifa 07
Biddy replied to arealbrfcfan's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football Archive
Right, I've just got the XBOX version and given that a go and I have to say that I think most people on here are giving it an unfair ride. It's not ground breaking by any strech of the imagination but I reckon it's no better or worse than last years effort. For the Graphics, I have mixed feelings here. I don't think they are as bad as Cocker makes out but they are not as good (sharp) as Fifa 06. I am playing in High Def (720p) and the in game graphics are OK if a little rough. I hate the zoomed in replay graphics though as they put this hazed "sheen" on everything. It just makes things look blurred. The commentary is the same as every football game on the market. After you have played one game, you have heard all the comments. It is still 1000 times better than anything PES has given us. It did that in Fifa 06, or was that left out of the PS2 version? I still like it, makes it feel good that they've got something specifically for Rovers. To be fair, that was a transfer day deadline deal. You would have thought they could have got all the transfers in but I'm not going to hold that against them. I still reckon they'll have more of the correct team than PES! In terms of the gameplay, I think it is very much like Fifa 06 with a few tweaks. So pretty much the stock update from EA. Not really any imagination but still a solid football game. There are a few problems like there are in every game but none that make it the worst game in history. I'm not sure if the XBOX code is different to the PS2 (I wouldn't have thought so) but it really doesn't seem that bad. I am still waiting to see what Fifa and PES are going to be like on the 360 when they finally surface. I hope they make Fifa updateable from Live to keep the transfers up to date. It appears that's still missing from the stock XBOX version. Finally, just what has Stephen Reid done to annoy the people at EA? yet again he has been given a big dodgy 70's porn star tash! -
Indeed. Pathetic

Wow, a game I might actually buy on Xbox Live. Still, it'll never be the same as playing with a Competition Pro joystick on the Amiga. -
[Archived] Middlesbrough 0 V Blackburn Rovers 1
Biddy replied to James No. 7's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
They had a few more than 2 chances. The 2 everyone are talking about are the ones that even Kuqi couldn't have missed and we were very lucky to get away with. I think everyone is more than happy with the win however most are quite rightly still worried about the frailties at the back. -

I don't see why, Xbox 360 sales in Japan are appauling. I think the original xbox is still outselling it. -

Well he was at a game last night whilst the program was on TV and in a statement that they played on the radio news this morning he said he would watch the program today before deciding what to do. He did say that he would fight if they made any false claims against him. -

They probably have, unfortunately the BBC investigation could find any actual proof. All comments were from the agents saying they have dealt with managers before but they can and are just claiming this was bragging as they wanted to find out what Knut was up to. Very clever by the agents involved I think. I couldn't even see what the BBC really had on the Chelsea guy. Yes he mentioned that he would give the kid £150,000 over 3 years but he never made that a firm offer and asked to speak to the kid. That's like me saying I'd only pay Amoruso £10 and his bus fair home given the chance. As mentioned above, the Liverpool link was laughable. The Harry segment should also have been left out but I guess they realised they had no content and needed to fill time. Apart from that aspect, I'm with Mike Newell in the comments that these back hands and incentives are all coming from one source, our wallets. That is possibly the worst aspect of all of this and we wonder why ticket prices are going up. -

I think more with the bleeping and starring out that they could prove even less with the other managers / teams and didn't want to get themselves sued. -

What a very, very poor investigation. Nothing proved and they will all get away with it. and off you go Toddy, whenever you like. -
But you are forgetting that Season Ticket prices would have to come down to £17.50 each as well. So instead of the club making about £500,000 out of 18,000 ticket sales, they would only be making £350,000 out of 20,000 ticket sales. Not a business call I would make lightly.

The "chat" link above that is broken. Too many dots in the link

Sorry Den, I wasn't meaning to try and stop the pm's themselves . I just think there should have been a warning not to post requests and then for any subsequent requests to have been removed. it's all by the by now anyway.
-
I think the "rash of links" was a little over the top. As Stu Wilky mentioned, I only saw one direct link the rest were helpful hints. I have no problem at all with the mods direction on this. I agree with them protecting the site. As I mentioned to Den earlier in the day, I think the rash of requests for pm's should have been stamped out from the beginning to stop the thread ending up as it did.

The video "recording" bit doesn't sound good. How long before we give up? Might go and watch teletext! -

That is a Ukrainian channel on satellite 4 degrees West. I doubt any pubs will be pointing at that as the main channels are on 13 and 16 East. If they have a motor they might have it. -
But surely £36 was the top price. As people keep saying, tickets could have been bought for £29 which is a bit better.

Which is a German subscription channel that is nearly as expensive as sky so I doubt any pubs will have it. -

Simple, I'm rubbish at racing games! On another note, I got Star Wars Lego 2 yesterday, now that is fun.
