  1. Lennihan is f*cking garbage. Overrated and liability.
  2. To me, it just looks like he's focusing on taking a better first touch and playing more simple passes to get into the game. Last season it was almost like every touch he had was like he's trying to prove something and beat his man before he's even received the ball. If you don't have a good fist touch then you won't have a good 2nd. It also seems like he's learned to use and know his body and be comfortable with someone up his arse when receiving the ball. This season I'm seeing him control it whilst holding off a man, then if the space is there he'll attack it, if it's not he just finds feet. Sounds simple, which it is, he's just generally doing the basics better. Lad is big, quick, capable of finishing, now he's doing the simple things well, the his natural attributes are showing through... It also helps that everyone works their balls off and presses together...
  3. Lewis Holtby was unreal. Actually looked like a German international had turned up for a game. Class act.
  4. Ruthless from Mowbray. This is a must win game, as they all are from now on I suppose. Looking forward to seeing Trybul because he looked a class above anything when he came on against Watford, his passing range looked exceptional. Him and Holtby should be interesting to watch today. Shame Ayala is out because I would have liked to judge what the manager likely considers our strongest back 4. I'm expecting a solid win today. Anything less is just not acceptable from the players we have. Good to see Evans and Gallagher on the bench, hopefully I don't have to look at their faces today.
  5. Phil Jones left out of this seasons United squad... Possible pay out and return to Ewood?
  6. Well. Garbage game. Forest were as poor as us. Neither team deserved to win. First, positives (if there are any)... Feel sorry for the back 4, didn't deserve to concede. Didn't really put a foot wrong, thought Ayala was rock solid again. Didn't look like they were going to concede. So many players I could gladly never see again. Evans can f*ck off on the next train to Stoke. Nothing sideways footballer. Gallagher should retire. He won't even get 5 goals this season. He's never ever in the game, just running round like bambi on ice, 5 Mill utterly wasted... Just go away fella, sick of looking at you. Buckley needs to go on loan, I've not seen anything from him to suggest he will make it at this level. Chapman is a league 1 player and will never be anything more. As much as I blame Johnson for today, his performance was beyond words, looked hungover... Yet, he's shown enough this season to have the opportunity to put it right. Maybe Brereton too, who was also absolutely crap. Felt sorry for Armstrong, he had nothing round him, worked hard, held it up well at times but got nothing. A truly thankless task. As a window closes, this game highlights the importance of the next one or at least next summer. A lot of deadwood primadonna's. Seriously, does Evans want a lift to Stoke? I'd kick the f*cker out the door half way down the m6. Useless. Just get out my sight.
  7. If I never see Sam Gallagher again it will be too soon... F*cking w*nk!!! Stealing a living.
  8. This is the Rovers of old... Think this is a fine example of how much we miss Rothwell without him in the side. His forward passing and general direct link up play is totally what this game needs. Literally just watched Evans and Johnson play safe sideways passes for 45 minutes. Too predictable. Both teams very wasteful in possession, poor game.
  9. Got to go for it. The mentality of playing for a point should be long gone, with the quality we have we should be looking to win every game. Focus on the quality we have and how best we can hurt teams. That's not to say we shouldn't respect anyone but simply not change our style of play that has served us well so far. Stay on the front foot, keep the high press, keep feeding Dolan, keep Gallagher on the bench. Even if we lose, commit to this style of play and learn. Too long have looked like a side void of any method and style... Just go for it Mogga.
  10. I have absolutely no concerns over Ayala. Seasoned experienced pro and leader.
  11. We're not going down... Let's get on the juice!
  12. 31 years old and out of contract at the end of the season.
  13. Shane, looked good recently.
  14. Is Yannick Bolasie really any good now though?
  15. It should but from what I've seen over the years It doesn't always necessarily play out like that. Look at Cardiff, Burnley, Sheff United, Leicester... Didn't spent vast amounts of money. Then look at Derby, Waghorn for 8 Mill, Lawrence for 11 Mill, big wages on Rooney... They look garbage. Just because you sign a player on a free in last year of his contract doesn't mean they're worse than a player who goes for x amount of millions. When we come up against a side, I often ask myself, who in our squad would swap in theirs like for like? Granted I have a bias but there are never many players I would swap. What's been lacking is certain mentality of player and I think in Ayala, Johnson, Douglas and perhaps Trybul we may finally have that. If you look at that Norwich fans short video when he discusses our squad, he goes through our side and almost seems to be surprised at the amount of quality in there when you give it thought. I remember Merson saying the same on Soccer Saturday. Many of our players would leave for decent fee's, we have to start realising and fulfilling our potential. This has to be the best chance we've had since we've been down here, the league is open, we have to go for it and I don't just mean the playoffs....
  16. Outspending means nothing in the championship. Its getting the recruitment right, not the amount spent. There seems to be a statement of intent from the club on recruiting 2 proven promotion challenging/winning defenders and a midfielder. We already had talent but not a promotion winning mentality. This is obviously what people are basing their expectations on. No team has a devine right to a playoff or automatic spot but to be in the mix certainly has to be the expectation.
  17. Claiming an exclusive that we're in for Harry Wilson, 1 Mill loan fee... I call bullsh*t. https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-blackburn-rovers-in-hunt-to-sign-liverpool-left-footer-by-tomorrow/
  18. Gallagher was poor when he came on, offered nothing different. Bell had a decent game, credit where its due. Ayala was solid and is a wise head back there, I could see him already getting players told. First half we pressed really well, unlucky not to be winning really. Thought Rothwell had a good game again but his shooting is garbage. Johno, solid. All In all, not much to complain about except for Chapman and Gallagher being pretty ineffective.
  19. I don't get how it's taken this long for the manager to work out that CM is his best position. He played him there against Brentford when we first signed him and he was MOTM. His enthusiasm to want the ball, the quickness in his play really livens us up and makes us quicker in the transitions from defence to attack, which suits the like of Dolan and Armstrong. I think he links us together really well now. Far too long have I seen Rovers teams far to slow on the counter, like running through treacle. Smallwood and Downing playing painful sideways passes and nothing possession football, now all of a sudden we have someone who wants to play in tight areas and attack space. It breeds confidence and a way of thinking suited to our players. I understand people's frustration with him but the manager has to take some responsibility in wasting a year of his development whilst playing Smallwood and Bennett ahead of him. His end product is questionable but in centre mid, he's finally found his place, I just hope the manager doesnt hang him out to to dry after one bad game.
  20. Wouldn't be surprised to see Sheff United sign Adarabiyo tbh.
  21. Mainly because he's actually a right winger...
  22. One thing I was most impressed with yesterday... Seeing Lennihan drag someone down by their shirt when they were in. For too long have we been soft touches, with Johnson in the middle It just gives us that nastiness we need which breeds through the team. With Rothwell along side him covering ground it just allows him to sit in and pick his moments to push. I think they compliment each other really well and could never understand why TM didn't stick with Joe in CM after passing rings around Brentford at Ewood when he first joined. He's got the prefect engine and passing range for CM.
  23. And they want Williams... Left back needs sorting.
  24. He's definitely not dependant on a long ball but he was dependant on scraps from DG winning the 2nd ball in the final 3rd. I'm not sure he'll be quick enough or fit enough to fit in to this side and be effective in the high press.
